Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya Wedding Info?!

Recommended Posts

My fiancé and I are picking resorts for our intimate spring break 2015 wedding (20 people).  So far price is becoming an issue, and the resorts that we originally wanted are outside of our price range over spring break.  We are now considering the Barcelo Maya Colonial/tropical (price pending), or the Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya.  However, I can't find ANY wedding package information for the grand sirenis.  I've seen tons of lovely photos, but I can't find any package info or prices, OR  coordinator contact info.  Can anybody help me out, please?!  Thanks in advance  :)    Also, I'm open to other resort suggestions  :D

Hi RiskyTeacher-

The Grand Sirenis is a great location for an intimate destination wedding. The wedding location used is away from the hotel and really feels like you have the place all to yourself for your event ! The last time we worked there Yeniza and Fernanda handled the day fantastic. Emails can take a while so perhaps a call to the wedding department might be the quickest way for some answers. Hello, I could find their basic wedding information thru their website. My travel agent emailed them to get all the detailed info, and wow they send alot. Took a few days - maybe a week - to get a response but ever since communication has been good. We are booked for January 2015. I didn't look into the Barcelo property, but I know someone who has stayed there and enjoyed it. We choose Grand Sirenis for the price point, and also becuase I know people who have married there/ stayed there and got no bad reviews. Good luck!

Hi!

I feel like we are in the same boat! I am also a teacher and was looking for spring break prices- and was so disappointed when everything was way to expensive!

We ended up choosing Grand Sirenis and actually chose a different week to go (now going second week of December). I have been reading some bad reviews and am a little nervous but there is a Grand Sirenis group and most have wonderful things to say. I have also searched for pictures and the wedding pictures all look amazing!

I have some emails of packages that I can send you if you give me your email address. They offer many different packages for every price range. I am not sure how many people we are going to have but am thinking around 20.

Yeah I noticed the reviews are amazing or horrible. When I read reviews I delete the best and worse. I often find with the average ratings they give better explanations. Also now that I have picked the resort I stopped reading all reviews. It was driving me crazy and I started second guessing my decision.

I had to stop looking too, when researching, becuase you can make your head spin.

I read the reviews form time to time now, but I know so many people who have stayed at this resort and 2 who have married that I am happy with our decision and feel safe.

Just frustrated right now that I emailed Maria last Friday and sitll no response!

I heard when we get the actual wedding planner a couple-few months before the day, she is way better communication!

My questions weren't even that hard (things like - how many seats per table in the palapa, etc.) sigh! Otherwise have been very happy!

I have spoken to Maria recently and yes she's not very good right now , but just be persistent. We are getting married Sept 2015. I couldn't understand all the extra price list or how it worked and she kind of cleared it up. If you send me your email I can forward the PDF of all the costs!!

Maria went on mat leave over a month or two ago - do you still talk to her?  I have Andrea now and she is very quick.

I have all the price lists, but thank you for the offer.  Just needed more of the specific details for seating arrangements, etc. but all has been worked out :) Thanks! congrats on your wedding. 5.5 months for me!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
