Anyone Else Considering Not Having Their Ceremony On The Beach?

Recommended Posts

Do what makes you happy!  It's okay if it's not on the beach! Your guests will have the rest of their time down there to enjoy the beach! :)

Thanks you gals are the best! I believe I've made my peace with it... it also helps a great deal that I'm doing a TTD session the next day aaand I'll be there for 7 days...so that'll be more than enough sand for me. Plus A7XTrish reminded me,it's only 20 minutes.

Let me list pros and cons since I've been through it and REALLY wanted the wedding on the sand.

Con's:

* You have lookers that will stop.  In the moment you won't realize they are even there until the man who has no business wearing speedos is in EVER SINGLE SHOT.

* You can't wear fabulous shoes

* You get sand on everything.  When I say everything I mean EVERYTHING

* The wind will mess up your hair

* Did I mention SPEEDO?

* Sun beating on your face - you will squint. It's unavoidable unless you do glasses

Pro:

It's different then a scene from a venue at home

We went with a fountain setup that had a gazebo my FI and I were under - our bridal party was not.  We were happy too it was the hottest day of the week.  Our pictures came out beautifully and we had the area blocked off.

As a compromise after the wedding we took pictures out on the sand.

We are getting married in Fiji, and we are not going to have the ceremony on the beach! We are getting married in the tropical forest, and then have the TTD on the beach.

You're not crazy. It's your wedding, and you decide how and where you want it :)

I've dreamed about Fiji all my life, and neither me nor my FI wanted a big wedding. We didn't really see the point of using lots of money on something we didn't want, so we arranged a trip around the world, and combine the wedding with the honeymoon... We'll be gone for 1,5 months, and it's our perfect vacation/wedding/honeymoon. There will only be the two of us, with two photographers, a videographer (both from New Zealand) and my makeup artist (local from Fiji).

We save a lot of money, and the money we do use, is only for the two of us! Gone all out with the best hotels and resorts, and one of the most important thing is the photos and video for our parents and friends (and of course ourselves).

I'm posting photos when we come back! ... That will be in august ^^ We leave Norway in june... Can't wait!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
