FLOWERS....

Okay...so I must admit.  I was definitely a little nervous towards the end about the flowers.  Since I was using an outside vendor- Marvin with Maya Floral...if anything were to go wrong the resort wouldn't do anything about it.

I had sent Marvin an email the week of the wedding just to confirm the order and delivery time.  I received no response. When I got to Mexico I called the shop directly and was able to confirm everything.

DELIVERY-

The resort has 2 entrances.  There is the main gate where the security people are.  That gate allows you to travel down a long road and gain entrance to several other resorts.  The second gate is the Jurassic Park looking gate.  When I met with Paola and Omar we discussed the details of the flowers.  They permitted the delivery to be made right up to the resort lobby!  Awesome!  All we had to do was pick them up and deliver them to the wedding coordinators office!

THE ARRANGEMENTS-

One of my FI's friends dropped the bouquets off to the room while we were getting ready.  BTW everything was delivered earlier than anticipated.  The Flowers were perfect.  Everything that I had hoped/asked for.  When I was getting quotes from Marvin I was able to find pics of exactly what I wanted.  He copied those pics onto my invoice and when they were delivered were exactly as pictured!!!  I expected them to be close but these were perfect copies.  Later at the reception I saw the centerpieces...same.  Exactly what I wanted.  Everything was fresh and beautiful.  After the reception I had the flowers brought back to our suite otherwise they would have been thrown away.  At least I was able to enjoy them a bit longer.

@@talicea7812 - CONGRATS again and I echo everyone's sentiments! SO happy everything turned out well and was an amazing time!  Thanks also for the ceremony tip.  My cousin has asked to officiate and we have to do symbolic because we are getting married on a Sunday. I'm looking into whether or not I can get out of being charged for a ceremony type (legal or otherwise) since I have my own officiant.

Can't wait to see your pics!

Marvin's company is called Maya Floral.  Do some research online and find some pics of flowers you like.  Send them in and he will respond with quotes.  His prices are great to start with and I was able to get them even lower than his original quotes.

MY VOWS...

A little background before I type them out... My husband is the sweetest, kindest person in the world and I am not exaggerating!  Every week he tries to do a random act of kindness.  For example:  One week he saw a family sitting on the side of the road.  Something was up with their car.  He went to the local gas station and grabbed them a bunch of waters and snacks.  He stopped by the car and told the guy he picked them up for family bc it was sooo hot out.  He felt bad for the kids sitting on the side of the road and wanted to make sure they didn't get dehydrated.  He offered to help but the man had called for a tow truck.  Now if that were me (and most people) i would have drove by and thought...that sucks.

Anyway, leading up to the wedding I kept telling him...there's still time.  You can back out at anytime.  I understand if you come to your senses and want out.  So with that being said... My Vows

Me: Before i get started, i want to give you one last chance to run...(pause)

because I'm going to warn you- A life with me probably won't be the easiest.  I'm stubborn, loud, and always think I'm right.  However, even with all these faults, I promise to always love you fiercely and forever.  I want to be the couple that really does stay together.  I never want to stop falling in love with you and i want to be able to look beside me and have you next to me anywhere that life decides to take me... because really in the end you are my best friend.  The one who always comes through for me.  The one I always want to come home to...tell the stupidest details to...the one i want to love.

So from this point forward- I can't always promise to be the best listener, but i will try.  I can't promise to be patient, but i will try.  I can't promise to be on time or not procrastinate but i can promise to look good when late and to always come through for you no matter what. (this was so perfect since i wrote the vows earlier that day & was late for the ceremony) I can't wait to live a lifetime with you.  My final promise is to grow along with you, to be willing to face changes in order to keep our relationship alive and exciting because Kevin- You are my fairytale.  What we have is the real "Happily Ever After" and from this day forward we will start a new chapter in our adventure book.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
