Royalton White Sands

I'm starting to stress about how Royalton wants to annihilate my wedding budget LOL. The DJ is extra cost, wedding cake is extra cost, dance floor is extra cost, extra guests are extra cost... I don't even want it to be a fancy ceremony/reception but even the little things add up, plus I'm Canadian so all the prices in USD add up even more for me.

How are y'all handling the sticker shock?

hi ladies- wish I could be more consitent with posts, but have been SO busy with wedding planning :) and i'm sure you all are just as busy!

i too cannot beleive the pricing for RWS..they nickel & dime absolutely everything! My wedding is 4/18/15 and as of right now i have 85 people booked....expecting close to 100 by the time the wedding comes around. crazy!! im excited so many people want to join us, but did not expect for this type of crowd.

we are bringing our own centerpieces, and decor for the arch. our ceremony will be on the beach, and our reception by the pool.

one thing i still need help with is securing our photographer. We had at one poitn decided to go woith Chris Clare, but he wanted full cash payment the day of the wedding. Im from NY and never would I give someone 1750 cash and then "hope" I receive my pictures later. I offered to give some money day off, and the rest upon receipt of pictures. is that not the norm? or am I being too skepticla and allowing my NY experiences sway me??

open to your thoughts.

thanks!!

Hi @@mimiblak - The payment thing regarding the photographer seems to be the norm! Actually, I would consider payment "day of" to be not so bad. Most vendors I've looked at require full payment a certain number of days in advance of your wedding. That feels a little risky, because what if they don't show up?!  I booked Stacey Clarke and full payment is due 2 weeks in advance.

@@mimiblak @@Sayler @@Soon2beMrsJ

we all have April weddings! mine is the 10th! looks like that covers just about every weekend in April!

and @@Soon2beMrsJ I am soon to be mrs J too! lol

hope planning is going smoothly for all of you! we had some hick-ups with the booking for our guests but I think we settled all that and we are looking forward to all the actual wedding planning! Definitely nervous about the nickel and dime stuff but we figure, we are in Jamaica, it should be beautiful no matter what, so no need to go crazy with extras!

@@bringahamsamwich, I'm actually getting married the day after you! I'm sorry you had trouble with booking...how many people are you having? Also, are you doing a private reception or having your reception at one of the restaurants?

@@pamelas21, how was your wedding?! I can't wait to hear how it all went for the founder of our little group. Hope it was everything you wished it to be! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
