@@kmk2016, I'm sure I've seen on here where other ABH brides have had around 80 guests and still had it there but I could be wrong. Have you looked through the Azul Beach Hotel thread? I did really pay attention to that detail just because we're having a smaller wedding so I didn't have to take that into account. Since they only have like 150 rooms I'm sure that's probably why plus your wedding is in high season so maybe they just don't accomodate it that time of year? Not sure....sorry :(

Yes- that's where my confusion lies- there are planning brides who have large groups, who are at Azul Beach (I dont think I have found any that have passed with large numbers). I will get a definitive answer when Im there next week- and if they confirm, I will make sure I come back and post on the 2015 AND the general ABH thread of my findings.

I would be booking 1.5 years out- so it's not the fact of being sold out in high season, its doubtful that any regular inventory has been booked that far in advance- and if there is another wedding booked then its a moot point as it wouldnt work with their one wedding/day policy.

Hello lovely ladies!! It's been a while since I've posted anything on here but just wanted to update you all...sent out the invites and have started getting RSVPs back. SO EXCITING! Honestly, I posted earlier that I had issues with my first invite vendor that I found on etsy but after getting refunded, I was able to get different invites from a website that has an actual store and I'm kinda obsessed with my invites! I got them from papersnaps.com, I did the all-in-one invite which is different then the typical invite and for 100 invites with my return address AND guest addresses printed on them, I paid $420. If I can figure out how to post pics on here I'll do that

Also, for any ladies looking to get anything from Wedding Chicks, they're running a 40% sale on their entire website (excluding invitations)...Since that's where i'm buying my OOT bags from, this is a major score!! Sale lasts through July 4th though.  Enter SUMMERSALE at checkout.

Hope everyone is well...Happy summer!!

@@ng2015 hope your planning is going well also! We've had a couple more people book their trip but still having trouble getting a straight answer from everyone! It's hard to plan a reception there without knowing how many people we will have. I am ordering bags from Wedding Chicks also, I got that voucher from Gilt you were talking about so thanks for the heads up! I think for the wedding and our reception at Azul I am going to print the free chevron invites Wedding Chicks has (maybe that way I'll get more replies?) We are sending out an announcement/invite the week we return to invite everyone to our AHR. What are you doing decor wise for the beach gazebo and centerpieces for your reception at the resort?

@@KaraEbeth So your guests have booked without you even sending out invites? Pretty impressive!! I love the wedding chicks free invites...I think you'll definitely get more responses that way. As for the gilt city voucher and the 40% off, you can't combine them :( I found that out after trying lol but if you want to get something else from there, you could probably do a separate transaction in order to get that discount. I personally like that "wifey" sweatshirt.

As far as ceremony decorations go, I may do an a la carte from the memorable moments...I reeeealy love the look of the pure glamour gazebo cover with the chandelier and flowers. I don't know how much that would cost....I have to see if I can justify it since we're already paying extra to have the ceremony and coctail at the Sky wedding. The reception, I'm still up in the air with. I was thinking of gold sequins table runners and clear votive candles. Maybe they can reuse the flowers from the gazebo on the tables.

What about you?

I can't seem to upload the picture of the runner so here is the link to the picture.

@@ng2015 I think we're going with Chill for our reception. I would like to keep it low key but still fun for everyone so I think that's the best choice for us. Still undecided on food and all that though. I would love to have a DJ or a mariachi band but just can't justify spending the extra money. We are do coral and teal as our colors with gray and white chevron accents. I just have two bridesmaids and we found their dresses at Hazel and Olive Boutique for $25!! It was a steal. I will have to attach the pic below. Don't mind my beautiful hair in the pic my cousin and sis wanted to see the dress on hahaha. My mom and I are also making hanging starfish decorations for the aisle and I may have the planners tie two to the corners of the beach gazebo (still undecided if I want to do that or two hanging flower arrangements there instead). I'm not sure what we're doing for centerpieces at Chill yet but I was considering just renting little lanterns from them and then bringing the chevron table runners my mom and I are making..that way I am getting use of them twice! I wanted to keep the decor at the reception simple though, maybe the lanterns and just some shells or something and some hanging lanterns and poms? I am a chronic procrastinator so I have a feeling I will still be changing my mind about some of this in January! I did get my proof from The Wedding Chicks for our welcome bags though and I love how they look, can't wait til they come in! I attached the pic below too!

I love those sequin runners btw! Very glam! Are you allowed to pick and choose things from the packages for your decor? I saw a wifey tee on Etsy like the one on the Wedding Chicks site and I am definitely planning on getting one as well!!

@KaraEbeth

I LOVE YOUR BRIDESMAIDS DRESS!!!! So chic and cheap!!!!! I'm trying to figure out a way to not have my girls pay so much so that's a great option!! I was thinking of using rent the runway to get their dresses but since their stock is always changing, I'll have to continue to check them out.

LOVE LOVE LOVE your bags!!! I have to figure out a rough number of bags that I'm gonna need because the voucher expires on July 21st.  I'm going to do the bienvenidos as well, but the one that looks like a typewriter print. I really wanted the Hola Amigos but the fiance liked that one better so i'll give it him :)

As for decor, the starfish are great! I think it's amazing that you're making them with your mom. I'm pretty sure you can pick and choose things from the packages, so in my head everything is glammy and glitzy (but he definitely hates all that so I have to restrain myself lol) so in real life, I might do the table runner and some votives and a few flowers here and there. Not sure yet about it all, I go back and forth on design. One minute I want to do fancy, then I think, well, it's a beautiful backdrop so don't go crazy. I want to conserve money though, that was our whole point in doing a destination wedding. My brain is frying just thinking about it lol

@@ng2015 Thank you!! I got my OOT bags on Friday, I'm really happy with how they turned out...I expected the canvas material to be a little thicker but owell. I totally agree with your brain feeling like it's fried! There are so many ideas out there I can't keep them all straight! I keep trying to remind myself I don't need a lot of decor because of the scenery but it's hard to to go over the top! That's why we had a destination wedding as well and it's turning out to be just as pricey lol. I don't know how I am just now seeing your reply btw, sorry I wasn't ignoring you!

@@KaraEbeth They look fabulous!!!! Congratulations! I placed my order about 2 weeks ago so I'm still waiting on them. I can't wait. Now begins the hunt for finding what to put in the bags! I feel like no matter what I put in there, it's still going to look empty. Have you had any thoughts on that?

I dont get it , I never heard this before did any of you had the same problem ??

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
