Thanks @@talicea7812. Yes, the Hacienda sent me the small menu since i'm only expecting about 30 people. Yes, please keep me posted, I'm interested to hear. I still can't view pictures, I haven't posted enough yet :(

I know I've seen posts about an outside flower vendor possibly in the PDC area but I can't remember the name.

sucks not seeing the pictures...but its easy to get to the 150.  It only took me about a month. lol...im so impatient! I sent out so many emails and I basically sit at a computer all day.  I have my email open so I can get the emails as soon as they come.  the wedding is so close so I need quick response time.

One thing I didn't really consider until today is transportation.  Hacienda sisal is 30min away! I would def have to get a bus or something to shuttle the guests.  I'm thinking that's going to put Sisal out of budget.  I will be so disappointed.  With the way Azul has treated me I want to give them as little money as possible.

Wow! so Zaida Marcos (check out her work on facebook) gave me a price quote for my cake... $6 per person!  That's $150 for the whole cake and half the price of what Azul wants to charge! Not to mention fondant style not buttercream.  I have sent this info to my coordinator.  Again, I will be looking into if it is possible to have these items delivered to the hotel and have someone go out to get it.  The price differences are insane!

After having lunch with a friend of mine this weekend, we got to talking about her destination wedding.  She was married at Dreams Cancun.  I had an amazing time and the resort was awesome.  she said she didn't experience any problems like I am having with Azul.  She handed them a box of decorations and the hotel set everything up at no extra charge.

Hi @@beccafries I don't plan on using a collection, they are more $ on top of the price for the wedding already. You can use a collection or you can use decor from the Lomas Travel website. (Lomas Travel is the offsite company coordinating all Karima resort weddings). The links below are what one of the coordinators sent me:

Wedding Package:  http://www.karismahotels.com/WeddingsRomance/Weddings

Gourmet Inclusive Wedding Events:  http://www.karismahotels.com/WeddingsRomance/Weddings

Ceremony Locations: http://karismahotels.com/weddingsromance/weddings/choose/ceremonylocations

Optional Amenities: http://www.weddingsbylomastravel.com/planning/

Private Event Banquet Kit: http://karismahotels.uberflip.com/i/183324

I've seen a lot of complaints about lack of communication from Lomas Travel and people having a hard time hearing back from them but I've heard that several weeks prior to the ceremony you start hearing from them more. I've also heard that once you are at the resort the onsite coordinators have all of the information from Lomas and you're in good hands but I haven't had my wedding yet so I can't give you a personal account. I have poured through the reviews for Azul Beach on TripAdvisor though and all of their wedding reviews are very positive so I feel like I'm in good hands. Just a heads up also, there is an $800 outside vendor fee per vendor if you choose to use a different vendor than one of their preferred (like a photographer or makeup artist, etc.) Also, you can bring your own decor instead of using a collection or Lomas' decor and they charge a $5 fee per person to set it up for you. I plan on doing this just because it will still be cheaper than using their decor or the collection. Hope all this helps :)

So...to speak more on the lack of communication.  Ive expressed my concerns to my coordinator, then emailed corporate, the onsite planner, then went on the karisma & Azul facebook pages.  The FB comments are what finally got a response & someone contacted me by phone- which is tough to catch me.  Ive since emailed him and my coordinator.  Carol refuses to respond to any more questions/send quotes until I talk to the top guy.  so here I am...50 days from wedding and just waiting.  I've sent the same email twice...no response yet.

Nothing has been done other than book the location of the ceremony & reception.  Payment is supposed to be due for the reception next week...

I'm a control freak. Type A personality when it comes to planning. So this is driving me crazy

Im trying to bring in as much as possible.  someone on here said they wont let any deliveries come past the main gate...which is about 2-3 miles from the actual resort.  My Fiance and the groomsmen are willing to take a taxi or something to the gate to meet the vendors.  have you gotten quotes for flowers yet? who have you contacted?

I haven't gotten any quotes yet because at first I was just going to do a small centerpiece and bring down a ton of votives and candles but the more I think about it, the less I want to give them my money. As it is, I'm already going to have to pay an outside vendor fee for my photographer/videographer AND it turns out that the DJ that everyone seems to love (DJ Doremixx) charges $850 so if I pay for him and a second outside vendor fee, it's STILL cheaper than using their DJ. So I'm going to shop around.

Do you know if they'll still charge the outside vendor fee if your fiance and groomsmen go to the gate to get the items?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
