2015 Jamaica Brides - Post Here! Lets Help Each Other :-)

Recommended Posts

Hello all future and past jamaica brides!

I just decided on having my indian wedding in jamaica in february 2015. Trying to do as much research as possible and boy is this hard work already! Im really liking Half Moon Resort i noticed its a bit on the pricey side and i have about 80 people attending. Also RoundHill looks good too. I too am looking for a wedding planner based in jamaica. Sara G events seems to be a big planner there, waiting to hear back from her. Any one else know any other planners, one that has planned an indian wedding is a plus!

Hey mysticjade, may i ask why you chose iberostar rose hall for a hindu cerominy? Did you inquire at any other hotels before chosing iberostar? I want to go out and visit some of these places to get a feel for the resorts. Do you have a wedding planner for your indian wedding? Im so glad theres another indian bride planning at the same time!

Hi, I too am planning a destination wedding for 2015. I am a newbie and I just wanted to introduce myself.

I live in Toronto but I am from Jamaica. As a result I am looking for a more authentic Jamaican experience for my guests and I. I will be renting a private villa in Oracabessa (short drive from Ocho Rios) for all 30 of my guests. Its called Golden Cove Villas and it comes with private chef, housekeeping etc. Its pretty affordable considering the guests split the costs with you. I am still debating whether I should have the reception on the grounds or at Firefly (another breathtaking venue in the area). Ceremony will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Ocho Rios. Btw anyone looking for a beautiful church to have their ceremony at Our Lady of Fatima is seaside and has amazing views of the ocean definitely check them out.

Now that I have the nitty gritty decided I am now looking for a good wedding coordinator and some reputable vendors!

Well, that pretty much sums up my research. I am excited about the wealth of infotmation this site has to offer!!!!!!

Congrats!! I am also having a villa wedding!!  I will have both ceremony and reception at the villa.  The villa is on the border of Ochi and St. Mary.  I was in Jamaica last week and got to see the villa and meet with a wedding planner I've been communicating with.  She was very nice and replies quickly to e-mails.  She does not have much reviews, but has pics on IG and FB. Of all the wedding planners I've reached out to, she was the most reasonable in regards to price.

My wedding date is June 25, 2015. Wish you all the best with your wedding.

Hi Francine!

Would you be able to provide her fb or instagram so I can check her pictures out.

My wedding isn't until October 2015. I am now contemplating just having everything on the grounds instead of having to transport our guests to and from. Less stress!

We were totally going to go with Iberostar but at the last minute changed to Royalton White Sands, we just fell in love with how modern it looked! Our travel agent specializes in destination weddings and especially Indian destination weddings, and she said Iberostar is great for Indian weddings, but Royalton has this perfect little gazebo we thought would be perfect, and wedding coordinator there has done Indian weddings before too. Our TA also suggested Lady Hamilton/Palladium for an Indian wedding.

Hello ladies,

I'm brand new to this website but wanted to include that I have booked my wedding for May 7, 2015 at The Grand Palladium - Lady Hamilton in Jamaica. My sister was married here in April 2013 so I am familiar with the wedding process and resort. Feel free to ask me any questions and I'm also here to support/help any brides that may also choose this resort and time frame  :)

Thanks

Does anyone have ideas for wedding favors? I was thinking about getting little bottles of jerk sauce and putting a custom label on it (wedding date with my fiance and I names on it)

Then, I was also thinking of maybe having a small glass with wedding date and our names on it.

I discussed with my family but some are for the jerk sauce, while others think the jerk sauce is not a good idea since some of the guests live in Jamaica and may already have that stuff. If you ask me, it's a free gift. But I do want to be considerate of guests, especially the OOT guests.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
