Recommended Posts

@@SoEze.....I just returned from my stay at Royalton White Sands....the food was very good.  The buffet for breakfast has a lot of choices and was good.  On Monday nights they have a Beach party and the food was great.....lamb, jerk chicken, grilled mussels, etc.

The regular rooms are a bit small but we stayed in the presidential suites and it was beautiful.   I put a pictures in the gallery.

Hello everyone, I am AnnaTennille, and I am getting married at the RIU Tropical Bay Palace in Negril Jamaica on May 16, 2015. I am a nervous wreck already. I have no clue of what to do, but I am glad I found this site, it has been really helpful. I just want my day to be close to perfect as it gets. I had no idea that getting married was so much hard work. I hope I don't turn into a " BRIDEZILLA" but I feel it coming in already, sheesh !

Hi Everyone! I'm getting Married on April 25th, 2015 at the Rosehall Aqueduct and my reception will be at the Iberostar Rose Hall Grand. We just hired a wedding planner from tropical weddings Jamaica. Her name is Almarie and she is amazing! They have great wedding packages. We are still looking for a photographer and videographer, so if you have any suggestions please share :)

Hi All

My name is Nicole and we are gettting married in Jamaica on Oct 28th 2015. We have not pinned down the resort as yet, but are hoping to do so in the next couple of weeks. How did you all decide what was the right resort for you and your wedding?

Thanks

@@NixSpade Congrats! We are getting married 10.24.15! So close :)

Well picking the resort was the hardest decision for us! Well mostly me :) Because I wanted it to be affordable for everyone but was still looking for certain things in a resort for our wedding.

We found Iberostar Rose Hall Suites and it was what we were looking for! It is gorgeous and when I looked at pricing for October it was pretty affordable! I then went on tons of sites reading reviews after reviews because we were not going to be able to do a site visit prior to booking the resort. We didn't really find any bad reviews and their wedding packages are good so we decided to book it! I would suggest booking soon though because we had originally been looking at a November date but it was already booked! I was so surprised. It turned out better for us to have an October date anyway because it works better for people with the holidays and all.

Good luck and happy planning!

Hi,

My name is Francine and I am getting married in my home island, Jamaica in June 2015.  I live in NJ. I am so excited, but my fiance and I don't even know where to start.  We are going to Jamaica in March 2014 for vacation to try to visit a couple resorts and reserve a date for the wedding.

I read a lot of these posts and viewed a lot of beautiful pictures. We want a small wedding of 50 - 60 ppl. I like Sunset Beach resort because it seems to be affordable, but I also like Rosehall Beach Resort because their grounds are beautiful and spacious.  It seems to be more private.

Does anyone mind sharing how much they spent for their wedding? What were your big money items? Is it best to go with the resort for everything for the ceremony and reception? Or is it cheaper to get vendors outside the resort for things like decorations, flowers, DJ, photographer? Recommendations? I appreciate any feedback.

When I go and come back I'll be sure to update on the forum.

Thanks  :)

Hi Francine. I also am from NJ but not a 2015 bride. I am getting married this upcoming October in IBRHS because we have children attending the wedding. Just to help you with some of your questions: our wedding budget is $14,000 and that's including ceremony and reception at the resort. I have included extras for our wedding like a welcome cocktail gathering the Wednesday before the wedding and we also have decorations of our own and we splurged on the favors (we are doing t-shirts).

This forum has helped a lot with location reviews and awesome ideas.

Thanks @helenk

We are going down for the Labour day weekend to do a couple of site visits. We are looking at the Royalton and the Iberostar and another one that is being built right now called the Hyatt Ziva Rose. My fist choice is the Hyatt, I don't know why but I REALLY REALLY want to be married there. we'll see how it goes.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
