How far in advance are you asking your guests to RSVP? We are getting married October 19th and the cut off for booking isn't until August 15th but I want to have plenty of time to make my centerpieces, oot bags etc. how early can I ask for a RSVP on my invites?

Honestly I would give it until Aug 15th or a week before that, because people who tell you they are coming may not come at the end of the day and people who say no, might last minute decide to come.

@@rvalenka I think its kind of hard to put an RSVP on a destination wedding only because you are able to buy last minute packages so people who are wanting to go but can afford it may wait till the very end. I will know roughly how many guest I will have by March so I am just going to buy 6 over my guest count (3 couples)

Here is the tricky part that everyone tells you, but you won't believe.  As easy as you make it for people, not everyone will fill out that  little self addressed, stamped card!  It's so crazy!  I had a large list (250 ppl invited) and by a week after my deadline, I still had 80, that's right, 80 that were still outstanding!  If you have a date you need to know by, make it a month before so you give the people who forget time, and you have time to bug if you choose.  I know some people don't want to bug, but I did.  I broke it down by my friends for me, my hubby's friends for him, his family to his mom, and my family to my mom.  That way it wasn't overwhelming.  Good luck!!!


Another idea I've seen on other threads is to have people's RSVP be the booking with the travel agent, and put a date on that.  That will kill two birds with one stone, since after bugging people for RSVP, you then need to bug people to book! Definitely not trying to be negative, just this was my experience.  In the end, all of the bugging was worth it and it was the best 3 days ever!  Enjoy!

Don't forget to consider the procrastinators! Even with me putting a deadline 2 months before the wedding, I'm more than sure I'll still be getting responses up to 2 weeks before!

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010.       Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations.
