I think we have decided to mail the OOT bags to guests a few weeks before we leave along with luggage tags and pre-travel brochures...I think I would rather pay the postage than drag all of that stuff to Mexico and pay the extra baggage fees! What do you all think?

Kimberly, did you ever figure out your centerpieces?

I am sending out stuff a couple of weeks ahead of time and bringing stuff - I think its a good idea :)

I finally decided on table overlays (and purchased them) for both dinners and came up with a plan (even made some) for napkin rings for the wedding dinner.  Other then that I have bought some stuff but dont really have a plan yet :( lol

Good morning ladies! 78 days until the big day, and only 73 days until we leave!!

Good thing I am actually getting things done!!

The biggest one is that I ordered a second wedding dress!! It should be here I. Three weeks max! I was really second guessing my first dress as it is mermaid and I just did not want to feel uncomfortable on my big day! I also got my veil.

Other things I have done is get paper lanterns for the reception room, paper luminaries and led candles for the tables, tea light candle holders wrapped in twine (bought off kijiji, 75 for $50!), paper straws for the cocktail hour. Last night I ordered the ring bearer pillow, flower girl basket, cake server set, burlap mr mrs sign, wood fan handles(to make fan programs), cake topper and veil weights.Whew!

I am on the hunt for wood table numbers. I would like ones that are thick enough to stand on their own and are about 8" tall....apparently this is not easy to find unless I go the etsy route which is too expensive IMO!

Waiting for RSVPs still, I made the deadline August 15 and still have about 55 left to receive!

Yay! Starting to get so excited!! Hoping to get a little shopping done this week for some summer clothes on sale!!

How's everyone else's planning going?

Biggest question, how are you going to get everything there? That part scares me!

And reminds me that I need to get all of my receipts in order!!

Woah you are on a roll girl!!   I have decided that I am doing some paper lanterns for my wedding day dinner - so now I am on a hunt for the color sizes I want.  I got my outfit for my shower - I am going to give it to my MOH this weekend - my shower is going to be a surprise so I wont know when to wear it so it will be there for sure - I have half of my napkin rings done for my wedding dinner.. I also bought the paper straws for cocktail hour (although im not sure about the colors haha) I got the outfit for my parents vow renewal (they decided to do this since they will be on such an amazing island and I think it is so cute) I got the favors for the welcome dinner for the ladies - and the packaging for them - not sure if there is something else I have done recently - I certainly feel like I have a llllllllllloooooooooooooooooooooot left!

I also don't want to think about packing... I have been buying vacation clothes for a while and I have about two suit cases of just some of it LOL -- it needs to be repacked and obviously edited :( hhahah

omfg - you just made me count days 67 til we leave and 77 til the wedding *gulp*

Lol, I am starting to feel the omfg feeling too!!

Yesterday I went to Victoria's Secret to try on bathing suits so I could order them online...only to be pleasantly surprised that they were all 40% off!! Yay! So I bought 5!

I also bought my shower dress yesterday on Hautelook for $15!!

Still have to make the decision on whether to hire someone for hair and makeup and to use an outside DJ. Have heard reat things about Discomovil and they were super quick to respond with great prices. Will have to talk it over with the fiancé this weekend and decide!

I am doing hair and make up at the resort (only other choice is not to do it LOL) same with DJ - Sandals doesn't allow outside vendors.  I'm not doing a DJ though I don't think with my small group it is needed.  We will go to a club after :)

on a good note - We booked our tickets to St. Lucia yesterday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   To lessen the stress about packing we did 1st class - can have 3 - 70 lb checked bags each :)  If that isn't enough I'll die!

Now just have to get tickets to Puerto Rico and then back to Boston (or maybe we will just stay in St. Lucia forever hahah)

Got a few more things done this weekend before I was hit with a migraine last night! Finally feeling better this evening!

FI chose some nice watches for his groomsmen which I found on beyondtherack.com for a really great price!!

Also decided on table numbers, and got the frames for them to go in to!

The hardest part of the whole wedding is filling out the paperwork for the hotel..so I started it today! Yay me!

Oh yeah, my parents finally booked, but looks like they are staying for two weeks like us....fun honeymoon, lol

I think that all I have left to do for Katie's wedding is the welcome letter and fill out the resort planning form. I have most of the decorations and favors packed up and ready to roll! Showers this coming weekend. I am hoping to get by with 4 suitcases between my husband and myself. Katie will take her dress. Debating whether or not to make napkin rings since I have some time...can't decide... We are just waiting to hear from 3 people  as to whether or not they are coming....Gave the response cutoff as Aug. 22nd. and wish I had made it sooner! Hoping I haven't forgotten something major! It just feels too easy after months of stress!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
