In town as in PV? Not that i know of. We usually stuck to the disco at the Jalisco or Vallarta. It's convenient and drinks are steadily flowing cheesy.gif My previous trips to PV we went to Christine's (so much FUN!) and the Zoo. I'm pretty sure Christine's has a website and you can email the manager for a group booking. Check it out.

Yes dinner was like an hour and a half. They kind of rush you out of there because there's usually 2 sittings a night. We didn't really care for that but we just moved all our guests over to the pool side bar. it was a private event so only our guests were there. I loved it, everyone really had a good time. I can't remember off the top of my head how much it cost. it was per hour something like $200 an hour? I can't find my wedding excel spread sheet. sorry! But that includes bartenders too and the sound equipment ($40 for the whole night).

I reserved the bar before i got there. I arranged it with Erika and when I got there we discussed the times. I think reserving it ASAP is the way to go in case there is another wedding that same day. better to be safe than sorry, KWIM? Also be sure to check out the disco hours. The disco was closed on Wednesdays and our wedding was on a Wednesday so once again that all came into factor when considering times etc.

His arguement was that people could go to the disco if they wanted to continue dancing. I think I won the arguement because he said the other day that 3 hours was fine. I was just wondering if after we were done drinking and dancing at the pool bar if the disco was a fun option. I guess I have no control on that one. We'll just have to check it out and see!

The disco was a blast! Our guests went there on a regular basis. Even my dad was dancing up a storm. OK so I just asked DH what he thought of the disco. He said "it sucked!!!" LMAO. OK so obviously different opinions. He said it stunk like puke and looked like a raper's hang out. Whatever that means. smile105.gif

Hi there!

My daughter got married at the Riu Vallarta May 7, 2008 and they rented the bar area by the pool which was arranged with Erika ahead of time. I can't remember how much it cost right now but I think I put it in my review thread which is here http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t21027 but unfortunately I can't get to it right now probably because of the forum maintenance going on.

I know Celina (mrssoontobee) just got married at the Riu Vallarta this week and is due home tonight. I'm pretty sure they were renting out the bar area by the pool so she will know how much it cost for sure.

Thank you soo much for the review! It is a peice of mind to hear how well it went as I am getting married at the Riu Vallarta in less then a month! Our only hiccup so far was that after spending $300 on getting our birth certificates notarized and translated then sent to them, Erika emailed stating that they have changed things and you now have to get them translated there! I was fumed as no one discussed the change or saved me $300.... I guess if the rest goes like it did for you I won't even remember the "hiccup" once it is over :)

My bouquet was White Calla Lillies, Yellow roses and orchids. I got them through the Riu (their vendor). I was very impressed with the quality as they were gorgeous.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
