Yep it sucked. But I think it's like what Sarah said being a combination of EVERYTHING. Actually a few of our family members were really sick too. Even hadto make a call to the doctor at the Riu to get an IV.smile41.gif

wow! I usually get sick when I eat the cheese in Mexico. My stomach clashes with the cheese!

Thanks Jamy. I think the Buenaventura was a good choice just not under construction. It will be fabulous soon though. The reno's are going to be breath taking.

That's sweet and almost made me cry. Yes this year certainly has been a rough one but it's also been one of the best. Funny how that works, isn't it?

Thank you very much, kudos to Robin because she is very talented. beleive me, I am NOT photogenic one bit.

I was very impressed with the flowers, the quality was over the top and the roses were at the perfect stage. I'm not sure who they go through for flowers but I know it is an outside vendor. They will give you ANYTHING you want.

Our reception was my fave part of the night. We danced the night away at the Bar Bahia (infront of the beach). It was away from the resort a bit so only our guests could enjoy. We rented it for the night as well as a bartender and sound equipment. I brought my macbook(laptop) along and we played music from it. The guests loved it and we all danced the night away. It was so awesome. I wish I could do THAT part over lol

What month is your wedding? because October was waaaaaay too hot!
Yeah - I was going to ask you about the reception. We were thinking of renting out the bar as well. Did they set up tables, or were there tables already there? What was the decor for the bar area? How many people did you have? We are getting married November 8, 2008. Where did you get your cake?

Thanks for the detailed review, it was very helpful! I am waiting for a response from the WC at RIU Jalisco and hope to have it there in June '09. Interesting that by contract they can't start planning the wedding until you arrive.... I guess I shouldn't freak out if I don't hear much from them.

Which wedding package did you end up picking? Your flowers were gorgeous (even my FH loved them... and he stays out of the wedding stuff!)

I'm pretty sure we went with the Royal package, whatever the middle package is. Thanks for the comments on the photos, you're very sweet.

Yes they had a power point slide show presentation where you could chose from each layout. For flowers they said you could do any combinations you wanted. They're very accommodating from what i can remember. We didn't bring any decorations with us. We weren't really into decorating a theme or anything. We're weird I guess.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
