@@liz24 it really does turn into a small fortune especially when you start paying for others. I would maybe choose to either pay for their hair OR makeup, but not both. That will help to cut costs! You should also ask your resort if they offer any discounts. Our hotel gives me 15% all spa/ salon services and for all our guests too which is nice.

No I'm not paying for my bridesmaids hair and make up. @@JMK923 is right! It does add up and that's a great idea about paying for one or the other. I'm showing my appreciation thru other ways such as custom tote bags and nice little gifts to go with the bag.

I am definitely not paying for my bridesmaids hair/makeup.  while that would be awesome that would be all I could afford for them.  I prefer to give them something that will last longer than the day.

Plus, I have been in each of my bridesmaids weddings and they did not pay for my hair/makeup.  make up application I would say is optional.  Up to the girl if she wants to put out the xtra $$.  Hair I def want them to do bc I would like it done the same for each girl...and I would like mine different.  For example...if I do hair down/half up...I want all their hair up or vice versa.

Wow! your wedding is so close! I am also a Karisma bride.  What are you doing about your hair and makeup?  I have sent several emails to my coordinator asking questions about salon services.

First she sent me a list of just service and price.  Which didn't have enough details.  Ex: hairstyle/bridal package 1  $239.  What does bridal pkg 1 include?

then she sent me copies of the info I can find online...still no mention of the bridal packages.

Since you are so close to your date I was wondering if you knew what these pkgs include.

also...I saw you mentioned getting 15% off salon services.  is that a special promo?

Yes it's coming up so quick! @@talicea7812 I'm having a trial hairstyle the night before and my hair done on my wedding day both at the Vassa Spa/ salon. A friend of mine is doing airbrush makeup for me and I'm just getting a gel manicure at home before we leave.

I have not looked into these packages at all but looking at the menu online for the bridal packages, it looks like there are 4 different ones. They all include your right to the bridal suite and small finger foods. The one package includes hair, makeup, facial and massage. The other 3 are different types of massages. Here's the link: http://karismaresorts.com/Portals/0/MenuVassaSpaAZS3.pdf

The 15% off discount is included with the wedding package I purchased which was called the Pearl Package but now it's called the Always & Forever Package.

Hope this helps!

FYI the bridal packages are on page 18 of the services menu

So my coordinator continues to do a poor job.  When I first asked her about the salon services offered at Azul Beach she sent me a list of services and prices.  No description. For example it said hairstyle/bridal package 1.  Well what is included? bc the price is $239!

After many back and forth emails with my questions not being answered and the coordinator sending me the brochure (many times) that I can find right on the website...I contact the salon directly to find out those services are no longer offered!!!

Seriously!?!?! my coordinator is so incompetent!

I have also come across a couple reviews (finally) on the salon here.  Basically...its tough bc the women aren't fluent in English...and ppl have said that the makeup application isn't worth the $$.

So now what to do? Azul wont allow me to bring someone in...and im not sure where to look in Mexico.

OMG! That is so surprising to hear that. Who is your WC? I feel like mine wasn't all that helpful at times. I wish she provided more guidance rather than me having to ask questions... Which most of the things I wouldn't even have thought of myself if I hadn't stumbled upon BDW!

I was looking on Wedding Wire and found these two places - The Best Moments and MVP Hair and Makeup. Another BDW bride hired The Best Moments to do her hair and makeup. I forget which thread I saw that on.

Both of them have REALLY great reviews for hair and makeup. I looked at their websites and their work is amazing!

Thanks for the info.  I sent both a message...however, im pretty sure that neither has an actual salon & they have to come to the resort.  That's where I run into the problem bc Azul won't allow the outside ppl in.  I even asked about purchasing a day pass and was told that ppl with the passes don't have access to the room areas

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
