start figuring things out immediately! im getting married in april and nothing is getting done because the wedding planner in florida is awful.  takes forever to hear back... ask a question u get one response.  don't expect them to offer advice.

I haven't made any plans other than location!!!

Also, do your research!  Lomas is a huge rip off!  For example- its $4 to rent chair sashes...I found them online for .81cents.

Good luck !

my planner is carol ramon.  she is the third one.  I booked my wedding January 2013.  one day I just get an email saying so and so is no longer with us...this person is now taking over.

as for decorations...im doing a la carte.  my theme is peacock.  the collections don't fit and its $3000 just to decorate for the ceremony.  Im trying to keep costs down.  after wedding we hope to buy a house...so we don't want to start our lives owing.

Azul continues to disappoint... Wanted to bring in someone for hair and makeup. I'm my experience ppl working in the hotel salons are just okay. The last time I had my makeup done (dreams cancun) it wasn't anything special that I couldn't have done myself. Azul also charges $90+ for makeup!!! Same for hair. I actually do a better job with my hair than the person who did it for the last wedding.

This really concerns me! I have very difficult to manage hair! I need someone who's a professional with lots of experience... Not just someone who knows how to work a curling iron

Anyone getting married at a Karisma resort...

You can bring in outside vendors for hair and makeup.  I was finally able to get it approved bc I went with someone who does airbrush make up and the hotel is unable to offer that service.  At first they were going to make me pay the $80 day pass fee but I fought that too bc the passes are for ppl staying the day who will also be eating and drinking.

Hello ladies!  Congratulations on the upcoming weddings.  I was wondering if you all would kind enough to share what all promotions you are being offered/talked your WC into, so I make sure I am taking advantage of all of the promotions.  we are getting married at Azul Beach in August 2014. We are on a tight budget, so any and all advice is greatly appreciate.  Thank you! :)

Hi ladies... I stumbled across this post and am relieved that there is SOMETHING out there with information.  Our wedding is at Azul Beach in Sept 2014 and I'm having the EXACT same experience with the terrible wedding coordinator that's in Miami.  We got passed around from person to person at first, but finally got assigned someone permanently (knock on wood).  She's TERRIBLE with replying (takes a week to answer a simple question and usually requires follow up to get that answer).  I've heard ALL good things about how it will all go down once we get onsite, so I'm optimistically hopeful that this is the case.  We went to the resort in Jan 2014 to check it out for 5 days, so if anyone would like info on what we saw, experienced, etc...am happy to provide.  I'm looking for some info from someone who has had their hair done on the resort at the spa for their wedding...I'm a little nervous, but again see that the majority of what they do is wedding updo's...so any info would be SO MUCH appreciated!

looking forward to meeting some new brides on here to share stories with!

Thanks!

Amy

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
