Yesica Garcia No Longer With Dreams Los Cabos. Need Advice :(

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I just got an email from Dreams telling me that Yesica Garcia is no longer working with the resort. She was my wedding coordinator for my upcoming May 2014 wedding and I am pretty bummed out about it. I immediately called the resort to speak with my new coordinator, Marcela Castro. She has not done a wedding yet but said she has been "practicing and learning." I am a bit stressed out right now because I personally did a site visit with Yesica last May and felt very comfortable with her. I don't know what to do. I would like to hire an external wedding coordinator, however all of the coordinators I have reached out to start off at about $2,000-$2,500. I am way over budget already.

Any thoughts on what I should do?

Hi SCchickie,

Yesica has left and is now working as an outside wedding coordinator with Lazy Gourment.  She emailed to let me know before she left.

Magda is still a WC at the resort and I am sure the resort will get everything in order before your wedding.

If it helps, I got married at dreams and my wc left like 5 days before my wedding so I was assigned someone brand new who turned out to be fantastic.  It was Mariana and I am sure you have read her growing reviews.  She did a flawless job on my wedding and we remain friends today :)

Thanks Tammy! we ended up hiring Gaby Cobian from Vivid Ocassions and she has been great. Our new WC at Dreams is Marcela Castro who has been responsive, but I just needed the peace of mind.

I am so sorry that happened to you 5 days before your wedding, I would have been freaking out! BUT, everything happens for a reason and YES, I hear Mariana is great.

BTW, thanks for the recommendation on Teresa Stauring she has been great to work with!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
