I purchased mine Bridesmaids their dresses. I paid about 75$ each for their dresses but I got them second hand but are in perfect condition. The great thing about destination weddings is you don't necessarily need to go with bridal store dresses... you could go to any store and purchase dresses for a lot of cheaper then "bridesmaid dresses".

I bought the Jr. Bridesmaids dress and the flower girl dress, because they are our nieces, and it would be a lot to ask for my SIL to purchase them. My other bridesmaids bought their own. I would have loved to buy the dresses for them, however I have 5 b-maids, and that was out of my price range. If I had one or two girls stand for me I would have paid for them. I think it's so nice when a bride pays for her bridesmaids, but nowadays it's certainly not expected. I paid $250 for a bridesmaids dress in the past and I think that's a bit pricey. I tried to keep my dresses around the $100-$120 mark. I am, however, paying for the girls hair and makeup at the salon, so I think that's a nice treat for them :)

Here are my bridesmaids dresses! From David's Bridal in navy/marine

Sleeveless Jersey Dress with Charmeuse Waist Band Style E44239
2 of my girls have this one (including my Jr. Bridesmaid, but it had to be majorly altered because she's only 10)

Short Crinkle Chiffon Dress with Front Cascade Style F14847
3 of my girls have this one.

Both dresses are gorgeous, comfortable, flattering, and the girls love them! Everybody is happy!

I too have had to pay upwards of $200 for a bridesmaid dress (NOT including the always needed alterations) and hated it. I haven't decided if I'm buying my sister's dress or not...I guess I could since she's giving me my shower and this can go towards my "thank you" gift or I could make her pay for it herself as payback for the insanely expensive dress she made me buy & wear for her wedding.  I spoil her in general so I don't feel guilty if I opt out of buying hers.  I do plan to buy my niece's dress as well as the dresses for the flower girls.

This is a long shot, but I found mine on kijiji. Its similar to Craigslist for those non-Canadians. They just happened to be the colour and style I wanted and they turned out to be the right sizes as well. I couldn't believe it!

What a great find!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
