12-13-14 Bride, Catholic Cancun Wedding?

Recommended Posts

Hello ladies!

I'm super excited to be here and to an a wedding but there is a lot of info!

I've found the beautiful chapel at the gran caribe royal and set the date but they only had 10 available with 12am reception. Any other great places or ideas for a Catholic Church wedding?

Any ideas for possible different reception location so I don't have to have a brunch?

Trying not to be a bridezilla lol

hello! we picked the feb2015 date at the gran caribe real... are you set on your date? if not you can ask for a 4pm availability? there are only two other chapels in the hotel area (JW marriot and Omni. Also the mooon palace (but this one is not n th ehotel zone)

mmy favorite is the gran caribe real :)

When I first started planning my FI and I were going to have a catholic ceremony and decided on the Gran Caribe Real but after much consideration we decided to have a symbolic ceremony and felt that the resort wasn't what we were looking for. We decided to get married at the Barcelo in Riviera Maya. It's a big resort with 5 beautiful resorts to pick from. They do have a chapel in one of the resorts. You should check it out!

Hope that helps, good luck planning!

Thanks Lori I will, I agree the chapel is amazing but the resort doesn't wow me.

I am set on the date and unfortunately all the other times but 10am are booked. I've been looking for other chapels but nothing that I have seen compares.

@@Vanessa33 The Hyatt is definitely a nice option right here in Cancun!

If you're set on your date but flexible on your location you might want to consider having your ceremony off resort in a local church (there is a large beautiful church right here in the Cancun hotel zone) or the church in downtown Playa del Carmen is adorable. Another resort option with a beautiful seaside church on the premises is the new Hard Rock Riviera Maya just south of Playa del Carmen. Beautiful hotel and the church has an incredible view!

Here are a few samples or feel free to visit our website for more destination wedding inspiration

I am getting married next summer at the  5th Ave. Chapel in Playa.  I had a hard time picking because I don't want my guests to pay $300 a night for accomodations and I can't afford a $15,000 wedding myself.

This way I can get the cute chapel, decent hotel nearby and we are having our reception at Kool Beach Club.  The woman at Kool beach club has been great so far.  She has set up the ceremontya the the Chapel for me too.  They get back to me quickly and have been very flexible.  There are other beach clubs too.

I also like that guests can choose to stay at our hotel (Grand Riviera Princess) or choose a different hotel.  Since it's not a hotel wedding, we don't have to pay extra for guests staying outside the hotel to come.

I love the JW in Cancun.  I've stayed there before and would again in a heartbeat.  I just couldn't afford their wedding packages.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
