We honestly don't expect a single person to attend and I think sending invites will make people feel obligated. I don't want to NOT invite people but we want to let a few know that they're welcome to attend with no obligations. We don't even expect gifts but if they want we'd rather they donate to thyroid cancer research at Mayo Clinic in my Mother's honor.

There's no point in paying for fancy invites for a very small amount of people so how would some of you go about this? Mass email to a select few? Too tacky?

I don't know but it won't be a typical "save the date" invite because I know people won't come. I don't want them to spend money they don't have plus it will be during TG break when everyone will be busy.

Thoughts?

Oh, we have no bridal/groom party. Just us and my son standing up.

I would still send out an invite I don't think people would feel obligated to come and if you were to mention something about not sending gifts but if they feel they want to do something to donate to the charity. I think people will appreciate that you at least gave them the chance and understand if they can't make it. You can find cute and fairly inexpensive invitations at www.magnetstreet.com thats where I ordered my save the dates which came quickly and were way cheaper than other places I had looked at. Good Luck!

Trust me... Ppl dont feel obligated.

I've had a bridesmaid drop out & I was in her wedding.

2 other bridesmaids- who's wedding I was also in will only be there 2 night.

Another friend decided to get pregnant instead of waiting- that couple got engaged while we were saving for our wedding. We decided to put ours off so we could attend their destination.

My list could go on.

In my mind I didn't expect many to come... However those ppl weve done destination for or I call good friends were expected to attend... They however did not feel the same

We didn't really have enough time to send invites and I didn't expect many to come so to save time and money I created a closed Facebook group and invited close friends and family I gave the dates and link to see the group rate and links for the resort and posted pictures we have 28 confirmed right now and a few others say they're booking soon I'm surprised we have this many I actually find it's the ppl you don't expect to make it are coming and ppl we thought would aren't coming. For ppl not on Facebook I emailed or just called and gave the info. You might be surprised and get a better turn out then u expect!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
