So I've been talking to my wedding coordinator about bridesmaid bouquets and centerpieces. Are y'all having to pay a small fortune for these items? It is INSANE how much they're charging. I wanted to do roses and hydrangeas, but it seems like maybe that won't work after all. Sadness. :(

What have y'all done and what did they charge you? Thanks!

@Lilgabri03, our wedding is on May 10th and we're having our reception on the sky deck, I'll post photos when we get back! There isn't much info out there on Azul Fives so I will do my best to post a complete review with photos, etc.

@, yes, Lomas is out of control! We are bringing everything with us, I'm not giving them another dime of my money if I don't have to! I'm making my own bouquets, which has kind of turned into a disaster but only because I can't make up my mind, haha! I started out making feather bouquets but decided that I really like the brooch bouquets... Then today I saw a very simple bouquet made from just calla lilies and I thought to myself, well that's pretty fantastic... Ugh, someone shoot me now. Anyway, back to your question, Real Touch makes awesome high end artificial flowers. If I were doing a floral bouquet (which I might still do, lol), I would definitely order these and make my own arrangements. I've also bought some really nice hydrangeas from Micheal's, they have a few different styles but if you look close enough you'll find they've got a high end line made by Ashland that are much nicer than the cheap stems.

@ - if you don't mind me asking, what were you quoted for the roses and hydrangeas?

I need to send some images for quotes for centerpieces and bouquets to my coordinator - I'm holding off due to fear haha.

Ok… I'm officially freaking out… My wedding is not this Sunday, but the following.  I just found out my coordinator is "no longer with the company" after no response from her for the last two weeks, and the "manager" who emailed me (from her email address) is not replying to my message or responding to my voicemail.  We haven't even paid off the reception balance yet because no one will call me to take the information…  12 days to the nuptials and I may pull my hair out.

Additionally, our photographer, "Caribe Photo" has STILL not sent the link to pay him via pay pal.

Any other Azul 5's brides have issues like this so close to the date?

Was Carol your wedding coordinator? My travel agent told me she left. She isn't my WC. I have Lucy who I have never heard from since she became my new wedding coordinator last week. I hope you get everything figured out! Good luck! Just breathe. It will all work out.

  • 2 weeks later...

Has anyone had any updates lately? I am beyond frustrated with this hotel. I've been waiting for 3 weeks now to hear what the various venue options are and what their capacity is. Literally 3 weeks. They write me back about other things...just not that. Its' really hard to plan a freaking wedding at their resort when they won't tell me my options!! UGH!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
