@@Lilgabri03, no problem, will send them tonight! It was quite windy, but the staff were kind enough to make sure everythijgnwas secure (ie. They put rocks in my mason jar pieces, made sure my Wed libs didn't blow away, etc).

Ok ladies, I'm working on a full review, will try to get it done tonight!

I just went back through all the photos our guests posted on wedpics (which is a great app, by the way), I found a couple that might help those who are looking for photos of the garden and pool area! I'll send them via email to @@TinkerSofi, @@Lilgabri03 and @cgcabazas.

Heads up, the garden area offers very little privacy... It's located right along the only walkway that connects the hotel rooms and the restaurants, main pool and beach.

Here is an overhead shot of the pool with the edge of the garden off to the right:

This one shows the garden in the background, that white structure you see is the gazebo. For perspective, you can see this cabana in the first pic, it's at the far end of the pool on the right side of the photo (the one closest to the fence)

I know they're not the greatest shots, but I hope it helps!

Hi, would you mind sending me pics as well through email? jb2b@live.com

I am also deciding to have my ceremony in the garden gazebo....thanks for the insight on privacy in the location.  That is definitely something to consider.  This forum has really helped settle my nerves!! Thanks to all the brides and future brides!  :)

I got the pics! Thank you so much. This really confirms what I thought, which is really that the pool has very little privacy. It is pretty anyway, but unless the price of the sky deck goes way up with all of our guests both the fiance and I decided to do it there. Our wedding is in August and some wind will be really nice to have up there with all that humidity and heat :)

One more question for those who already booked. My profile is showing me that I owe $2000 and some for selecting the ceremony at the sky deck. Do you guys know if this is doubled if I want to have my reception there too? or is it just one price for everything?

Hey Azul Fives Brides! Azul Fives is in my top pics for spring 2015 wedding but am a bit Leary of lomas, their outrageous outside vendors fees and such. I like to hear all the clever ways brides are getting around this! I read on one if the Azul Beach forums that a bride had all of her flowers done from an outside vendor and just had them deliver them to the gate and her family collected them. She said she saved a ton of money on the flowers which turned out great and didn't have to pay the bogus outside vendor fee! Anyone else considered doing this??? Flowers are a big thing for me but don't want to pay an arm and a leg....

be careful with that, I know some hotels are getting strict on that and not letting you bring outside flowers, even if you set them up yourself. I would ask your wedding coordinator. I agree, the outside vendor fee is ridiculous! The worst part is that they don't even give you many good choices to avoid that fee. Sometimes I think they do it on purpose to make more money. Oh the business of weddings...

We're trying to book our photography and video from the same company so that we have to pay only once. In terms of my hair and makeup I'm thinking of looking for a place in Playa. That way I can go, get everything done and come back into the hotel hahah. Hopefully my Spanish comes in handy then :). In terms of flowers we're trying to keep them at a minimum because they really blow our budget out of the water. Whatever flowers we do have, I really like roses and succulents, which apparently are the local flowers so that's a bonus.

This may be a seemingly silly question to some people, but I was just wondering to those who have been to the Azul or Karisma resorts what level of alcohol they serve.... I know it shouldn't matter but me and my friends like our cocktails and don't want bottom shelf stuff.... Thanks!

@@lhills, would you mind emailing me the pic please? I'm new on here and haven't reached the post count to view pics (ugh) .... My email is sd237005@@gmail.com thanks!

also, does anyone know what the pack up rain options are.... I haven't been able to get a straight answer from any place I've been considering and really don't want to get married in a ballroom .... Would love a place that has an outdoor covered area .... Thanks! These forums really help!

@@Lilgabri03 I think I've sent you everything requested so far.... Let me know if you're missing something.

@@BDABeachBum, yes, I'll send the pics right away! I think the alternative location for rain is either the Oreolas restaurant, which is on the main floor and is open to the beach, it's basically a giant covered patio. Or the Zky bar, which I think has an outdoor covered patio (can't remember.... I was highly intoxicated every time I went there, lol) and is on the second level.

They've got pretty much anything you want. They charge extra for really high end premium stuff, but you can get Malibu rum, grey goose, Don Julio, etc. At no extra charge if you ask for it.

Hi All! Congrats to all the 2014 brides!  Just joined this thread and starting to plan my wedding at Azul Fives for 2015.  Wondering if anyone decided on hiring at outside wedding planner, considering the cost for decorations and I've heard that the vendor options for the photographer and DJ aren't the best.  Already pretty sure we're gonna get an outside photographer.  I'm debating on if it's worth it to pay the $800 outside vendor fee to have a planner find the most cost effective choices for flowers, decorations, etc.  Wish it wasn't $800 per vendor.  Anyone have any tips on how to work around this?  Would also love any recommendations for travel agents that work out a great deal for wedding guests.  Appreciate the advice of more seasoned brides!  :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
