Has anyone had any updates lately? I am beyond frustrated with this hotel. I've been waiting for 3 weeks now to hear what the various venue options are and what their capacity is. Literally 3 weeks. They write me back about other things...just not that. Its' really hard to plan a freaking wedding at their resort when they won't tell me my options!! UGH!!!!

Are you working with a TA? If so they can pull this super quickly. Also the Lomas website and the Fives website has a lot of this info... They emailed me same day when I contacted them originally looking for basic info- and then moved to a TA when I made final decision to hold at sensatori instead (same group) also the brides dress rehearsal is a great way to see all the locations in person.

I would resend your request or ask your TA since as mentioned, I got a reply same day.

@@Lilgabri03 Just an update on how my wedding reception went at the Sky Deck - It was windy while we had the ceremony at the garden gazebo but when we got up to the Sky Deck, it was not windy at all. It was just perfect and beautiful up there.

I do have to post a warning though if you are making your selections and getting quotes of decor from pictures, you want to ensure your wedding coordinator sends you a picture of what Lomas will provide on the day of the event. What I got to find out is that they do not provide you the exact or similar looking item but use what they have that is close to the picture you provide. So I had requested a quote for a tall vase but what I got was a vase which was half the size of the vase I requested a quote on. I was informed when I had my onsite meeting, so there was a little disappointment there but decor was still beautiful.

I have no pictures back yet to share but I had a beautiful wedding and a blast at Azul Fives. So also did my guests. I loved the service at the resort and the onsite wedding team.

@isymiyak2000.
Thank you so much for responding to me! I am glad you had a great wedding and I can't wait to see the pics. I just had my first meeting with my wedding coordinator and boy $250 for one table for 8 people? Yikes!! Anyway. it seems like all went well for you. How was the resort itself?

@. I have some information of the different venues from my TA that I can send you if you want to give me your email address.

This is for all the brides who are considering bring their own decorations.  Was it hard traveling or coordinating with guest/bridesmaids to see who could help bring some of your decorations over?  I am seriously considering bringing most of my decor but I'm afraid that due to the traveling I may be very limited on what I can actually bring.  Are there any previous brides who can give me some feedback on this and possible ideas of things you were able to bring?

Thanks in advance for your help!! : )

Hi Ladies! Just left Azul Fives after an amazing wedding and week with friends! We ended up moving venues because of weather. We had seaside wedding on the pier, cocktail hour on the Sky deck and dinner/reception at Oriola. Food was AMAZING all week and our private dinner (filet and pork chop) both were deliciously prepared. Everything was perfect. We had an awful time booking everything through Karisma in US but once we arrived they rolled out the red carpet!

Congrats @@mrsrobertkarlik! I'm happy to hear they took good care of you once you were on site! We leave for Mexico tomorrow, planning was a bit stressful for me as well. I did find out from my coordinator that she is currently working on over 150 weddings and at least 20 of them are in May. It's no wonder they're so slow to get back, I can't imagine the workload! I hope Karisma will smarten up and do something about this issue, they're only hurting their business by overloading their coordinators.

Anyway, I'm so happy to hear you had a great time, and congrats again on your wedding!

@Lilgabri03 my quote was $225 a table for the centerpiece - yes it adds up really quick but to save money I had 9 guests at each table and for the guest of honor table, I had about 8 or 7 (I cant remember now). Also, another way I found to save money could be to move some of your decor from the location of your ceremony to your reception. I requested that all my decor which would look good at the reception be moved including the chair ribbons, flowers etc except the white sheers. The resort was great. We had a blast. Management at Azul Fives really goes all out for their guests. Most of my guests got room upgrades. My onsite wedding coordinator worked so hard for me she did not want me to move a muscle or stress about anything. If I needed anything, she got it done. If I needed to find a guest, she found them. The Lomas staff was also great, they threw in a bunch of stuff that I did not even request for/ pay for at my rehearsal dinner like the DJ and MC - I was honestly speechless.

@@Jb2b it would be very difficult to travel with all your decor. I traveled with my wedding favors, welcome bags, guest book but no decor and I had to pay the airline for an additional checked-in luggage and for excess luggage. Also, TSA does conduct random searches if you are lucky they might not search your luggage but usually when they do, they are not careful and might break things. A guest had the screen of her laptop broken. Another had a few personal items broken as well. So I don't know if I would risk travelling with all your decor. I think I was lucky my luggage was not selected.

Thanks for your input.  I will take that into consideration when planning.  Glad to hear you had a wonderful wedding!!  :)

@Ligabri03 Did you purchase all of your decor from Lomas?  This may be a silly question but I am a little confused with the purchase options on their site.  Did you have to pay for each individual item, i.e centerpieces, table settings, room decor, etc?  I am planning to do the garden gazebo for the ceremony and then the reception in the ballroom as a 4hr private event.  I'm just trying to save money where I can.  I'm really not into the whole flowers thing and would mind doing something different but I don't see any options for that.

I've also read on some of the threads that some brides have chosen to bring their own decorations but the idea of that is really starting to freak me out.  IDK?!?!?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
