Thanks @talicea7812

I had read that too... I'm still trying to convince one of my girlfriends who is a stylist (hair and makeup) to join... so hopefully I can swing it.  :)

having a stylist in your group would be amazing! save money! and put your mind at rest! Even tho I've hired someone already im still nervous! ppl never take me serious when I tell them how difficult my hair is.  when I sit down in the chair its under control...but that's because ive been dealing with it all my life and put a lot of work into it!

Next week im going for a hair trial before a dress fitting.  I want to have a plan A & B depending on the weather.  I also want to see some style now so when I get to mexico im not like, "well I like this hairstyle but maybe..."  Hopefully this will help me narrow it down and I can take pics to show my stylist. Hair is the one thing that really makes me anxious.  I'm actually getting a keratin treatment to help ease some frizziness and help out the stylist.  Im hoping it will also help my hair hold a style longer.

@talicea7812 thank you for the information on getting the favors to Mexico. That is very helpful to know!

Hi Ladies, I will be getting married April 16th. We decided to change ours from a symbolic wedding to a legal one (fiance prefers to keep it simple, which I kinda agree with although I think it will be interesting to see how this goes)

Our wedding will be in the garden gazebo, cocktail hour at the Zky Bar (glad to know it is floor below the Sky Deck) - my previous wedding coordinator was not very helpful in offering that detail when I asked. The reception will be at the Sky Deck.

My invitations went out January 18th along with the schedule of events. Will anyone be giving out Tequila as a favor? If yes, where will you be getting them?

@@KScheer Thats awesome!  Please share pics once you return, I'd love to see them.  Which wedding coordinator are you working with?

@@isymiyake2000  I also want to give tequila as a wedding favor.  I feel that someone will be able to help me with that once I get there.  I'm sure we can take a cab to a liquor store where the tequila will be local and cheaper that buying it from the states.  I don't want go through our wedding coordinator because everything is so "corporate" and non negotiable.  You can wheel and deal with hotel workers who don't necessarily have to report to corporate for everything.

Right now, we are debating whether or not to bring beach towels as favors.  I love the idea, but I really don't want to lug around all those towels in extra suitcases.

@talicea7812 Its concerning to read that the make up at Vassa is nothing special.  I'm going to ask one of our friends to do my hair, but I have no one for make up yet.  Who are you bringing in that does airbrush make up?  Is that someone you know or someone from down there?  Who gave the ok?

My planner is Carol Ramon.  I have a copy of her email giving the okay for Beso to come in the day of the wedding. I'm also waiting to hear back from the wedding coordinator supervisor. I intend to get something in writing okaying it also- then print and have the papers on hand if there's any problem.

This could be a good display frame for the reception. I came across it while trying to decide how to display the table numbers and/ISPY cards. They are 0.99 too. I like it but still trying to figure out if the colors work for my decor:

Hoping this saves someone else some search time :-)

Ceremony/Cocktail hour - Sky Deck

Reception - Beach

Is anyone having a welcome reception?

:)

Hi I am also looking this hotel for May 2015. Does anyone know if you can get married on the beach?

Hi! You can get married on the beach.. its not very private though, or private at all. Ive seen some of the beach wedding photos and they all have crowds surrounding them watching. But the Sky Deck is beautiful!

Hi everyone! I'm Kelly and I'm still deciding on my location for the wedding, but Azul Fives is the top contender. We're getting married November 1, 2014. This forum is so helpful! I was going to hire a photographer to bring from Houston because he would shoot Thursday night, Friday day, Friday night, Saturday day and Saturday night for $3100 and then we just have to pay his hotel and flight. Luckily, we don't have to pay for his second shooter. He's included. But an $800 vendor fee? We're trying to keep this wedding nice on a small budget and $800 is a lot!! How many guests are you all expecting? What menus are you doing? Any info would be really helpful. Thanks!! And congratulations to all of you on your upcoming wedding!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
