I think the answer to your question depends a great deal on where you're getting married. Have you selected a resort? Some resorts have wedding packages that include a cake and you might even be able to upgrade it. So if your package includes a cake, time is allotted for your cake cutting "ceremony". My husband and I are renewing our vows next year and it will be just the two of us so I based my resort decision on on the inclusions. So far I'm strongly leaning towards Couples Swept Away because it is an adults only and offers in my opinion a lot in the all inclusive pkg. I'm even going to have a special song played (well a portion of it) as we cut our cake. So I say all of that to say all of that to say your cake dilemma is most likely solved with your resort selection.

Hope that helps.

We have just got married at csa (17th February 2014). You do have two options where to marry, the beach where you are verrrry close to strangers in your pictures and you will be taken elsewhere to have your cake cut or the gardens where you have a private ceremony and will cut your cake their too. We had ours in the gardens after only deciding to make this change 2 hrs before the ceremony.

Best decision ever. If you you any questions about the resort, wedding, photographer etc please get in touch

Hi @@mark21!

Right now there are many options for an oustanding wedding cake. Some brides choose a traditional style but other prefer a more creative and casual idea and we've seen them all: from naked cakes to donut cakes, a symbolic cake on top of a bunch of cupcakes for all of the guests, or even just by adding some floral decor on top to bring more color to them.

In our tropical venue, we'seen many styles from many brides and here are just a few pics:

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
