Hello!

Greetings from Texas???? My name is Alexx my "boyfriend"

and I have been together for 5 years. We have 3 amazing children and recently decided it was time to tie the knot. Since we both come from previous marriages we opted to keep things simple.

We have decided on Cancun for a small (20'people) intimate celebration. We don't want to spend a fortune as we are in the middle of building a custom home.

We have set our budget at 2000-3000 for venue, ceremony, food, paperwork

And basic decorations. Is this reasonable????

I want to do the least planning possible! I have done some exploring on this site but have now become more overwhelend????????????.

Hello, welcome and Congratulations! I agree, planning a wedding, even a destination wedding, can be so overwhelming! There is a lot to consider, and this site is very helpful. It has so many forums, ideas, and the brides are so supportive, it has been a lifesaver that's for sure! The wonderful thing about a destination wedding is that there are no rules! It can be as extravagant or as simple as you want.

Although I agree, it can become overwhelming very quickly. You see what other brides are doing, all the "extras", OOT bags, favors, decorations, group excursions, and I personally found myself thinking "should I do that? Am I doing enough for my guests?" But don't do that to yourself! Plan a wedding that fits you, your style, and your budget. Don't let all the ideas and examples cloud your head. Although each wedding is beautiful and the possibilities are endless, it's easy to get wrapped up in it all and spend a fortune and stress yourself out. Your wedding doesn't have to be elaborate or a spectacle. (it would be nice though, a girl can dream!) Plan for your style and taste, and it will be amazing and tailored just for you!

Congrats!!!

My advice to you would be for you to really make a list of what you want your wedding to be. Think of things that are very important to you and make sure you incorporate them into choosing your venue. I would also suggest doing research, this site has so much information and is a wonderful resource. Please do not get overwhelmed! Take the wedding planning day by day. I would also order a wedding planner to keep yourself organized with all of your plans; this will help a lot. 3,000 is reasonable not including travel. I would suggest Ocean Coral and Turquesa. They are a very budget friendly resort. I am also having a wedding on a budget and I have learned there are some things that I just do not need in my wedding. LOL

Happy Planning,

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
