Didn't See It Coming!

Recommended Posts

I was 6 months pregnant but I was still going to work. I had a part-time retail position mostly to get out of the house and do something; I didn't have a risky pregnancy so I was able to move around. So, it was New Year’s Eve and I just got off from work about 4pm. We had gotten into a little argument the night before and he was getting a little bit of the silent treatment but when he came to pick me up from work he apologized sincerely and we went back to normal. He told me that he wanted to go out to eat and asked if I would be up for it so I said "heck yea" and he wanted to go to one of my fav restaurants. No problems here! And we're off. Get there, eat, enjoy each other, then sleep starts to kick in and I'm ready to go home and it's about 10. We reach home at around 11 and he doesn't want to come to bed. Usually I'm the one up till the wee hours of the night and he's fast asleep but I didn’t even think anything of it. He's pacing the floor, walking in and out of the bedroom. I'm thinking I did something to upset him but can't figure out what. The next thing I know, he's down on one knee, with a ring in his hand and the first thing I could think to do was turn away and say "NO!" But hear me out. I didn't mean no as in "I won't marry you" I meant no as in "I can’t believe this is happening!!" He said "no?" lmao. I turned around and told him "yes" and we had some laughs. Even though it wasn't the most public or extravagant proposal it was unique in its own way and it's my story to tell.

That is so cute! Congratulations!!!

Thank you, thank you, and to this day he still says that he should have come up with something better and I tell him to stop saying that because I was there too and it was beautiful, sincere and sweet and I wouldnt trade that memory for anything else.

I was also pregnant at the time.  I am a cheerleading coach and we were at the Cupid cheer challenge competition.  I (as always) was a nervous wreck waiting for awards.  The song single ladies came on and my fiancé approached me.  (backstory to single ladies- the year b4 at another comp my cheerleaders went to my FI and danced around him to the song) Anyway...he got down on one knee in front of the crowd and proposed.  It was awesome.   Cheerleading is one of my great loves. so to be proposed to at an event & win 1st place moments later... it was def a memorable moment.

    • we ended up using Facebook messenger when we were in Mexico - the hotel had free wifi and at least 1 person from each family/couple had FB on their phone already - it was pretty easy to communicate among guests "hey, we're heading to the beach bbq for lunch." or "everyone is hanging at the small pool today".  a plus was that some people tried to get a hold of me via FB on the day of the wedding and I was totally not checking my phone - they were asking if the wedding was outside given the rain forecast, thankful my mom, MOH and a few other friends were on the group and could respond for me :)

    • Hi Everyone, So, I was cleaning out my closet and realized that I never sold off my extra wedding OOT bag stuff from our wonderful DW.   46 Daily Spanish for Dummies 30 Pool colored OOT fabric bags - approximately 13in x 13in. They lay flat.  I used them for our wedding and they were perfect for everything we needed to fit in each bag. There’s a slight shade variation in the group; I’m guessing some were cut from a different bolt of fabric.  They are also a little wrinkled from storage and will probably be wrinkled from shipping. I have three additional ones, but they somehow got something on them (likely toddler related). If needed, I can try to wash it out and send those as well.
    • I’m getting married in six months to my foreign girlfriend. I was advised by a friend that one of the things I need to do before saying I do is to get a prenuptial agreement. Basically it’s supposed to protect my assets and properties in case my relationship with my future wife goes down the drain. I don’t know though if this is an acceptable practice when marrying Kiev ladies. I don’t want to do it if it would be insulting on her end. I need advice on this. Please help me.
