Faux Flowers For Ceremony/reception/centerpieces

Recommended Posts

I've always been a fan of faux flowers, and I'm so excited to see that brides are now incorporating them into their weddings!!!!

I am planning on making my bouquet, with some fresh flowers (kidding) from Michaels!! I am also intending on getting some for the centerpieces!

I cannot for the life of me, wrap my head around spending over $100 on flowers, when there are flowers EVERYWHERE!!!

If any brides can post centerpieces they had using, real touch/fake flowers, please do so!! I need inspiration!!!

I am attempting to make my reception either a smooth succulent and mellow color... or straight Mexico, I want mexican blankets for the table cloths and bright colored flowers for centerpieces.  I think tin cans are an AMAZING idea, since they are durable, able to travel, and I'm sure I can go to my nearest mexican market and buy plenty for under $20.  I've also seen some great ideas on pinterest.  Spray painting them, hole punching to make pretty table lanterns, or wrapping them in twine or lace.

I am planning on using faux flowers that I got at Winners this past summer for my centerpieces. We are getting married in Cuba and they don't have a great selection. You kind of just end up with whatever they have available. So I wanted to add colour to my tables and knew coral flowers would be difficult to get in Cuba. I will be using the wedding bouquet that is provided by the resort and will just select white calla lilies or regular lilies whatever they have available and then wrap the bouquets with coral ribbon and burlap!

That was a super quick mock up of what my centerpieces will look like.. they'll be better then that once its totally done.

You can also get wooden roses online for very cheap. They are just as beautiful as real flowers but are made of wood instead. I bought some from the site below for around $0.20 each and they were a huge hit.

That's a very cool idea!

For anyone making table arrangements - are you bringing vases or does resort help with this? If you plan on brining fake flowers that is

These center pieces are awesome! i am really considering the fake flowers.. but i heard some of my friends (who might be invited to my wedding *past brides*) that to have fake flowers is tacky :( .... im really against spending the ridiculous amount of money the hotel vendor wants to charge me :(

I think it used to be tacky because they didn't have great options, but now a days you can get faux flowers that are real looking. Plus this is your day not theirs! If you don't want to spend the money on flowers and won't care if you have real or fake flowers then what is it to them?

The flowers I got are great! In Cuba its very hard to get the flowers you really want and I had a certain look in mind and was able to achieve this using the faux flowers whereas had I gone with what is available in Cuba I wouldn't have been able to achieve this look. I'd rather go with I want on my day then care about what others would think. At the end of the day its your wedding day and you need to be happy with how it was... others aren't invested in your wedding like you are!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
