Karisma Bride's Dress Rehearsal - Feedback Please?

Recommended Posts

@@girlinthecity97 Thanks so much!  I just want to make sure i'm as prepared as I can be. I didn't even think about writing down tips for my guests! Great idea!  Did you measure anything while you were down there?

I found most of the measurements here.. although the structure at Plaza Zavas has changed i believe... and the gazebo on the sky deck is the white one not the brown one...

@@MandM2014 - no thanks needed! I look forward to hearing about your trip.  I did not measure anything while I was there because we were torn about which resort we would go with, and the onsite coordinators assured us they could provide whatever measurements I would need, should I later decide I need them.

If I had to do it again, I think I would POSSIBLY measure the ceremony gazebos only because I am thinking about bringing my own fabric to drape.  I would have definitely measured this if I knew for certain which ceremony site/resort I was going with. Since we were considering the sky decks at Generations (which hasn't been built yet) and Azul Sensatori, I didn't because I felt they most likely wouldn't be the same size.

@@girlinthecity97  I saw in one of your other posts that you met with outside photographers….did you meet with any that were "Lomas Approved"?  Which outside photographers did you meet with? I saw Sarani was approved but only for El Dorado and Generations (which is odd).  Did you happen to meet with her or know if she was at the BDR?

@@MandM2014 - I did not meet with any of the "Lomas approved" photogs because I knew in advance I wasn't going to use any of them (either didn't like the work, the price, or some combo thereof).  I wanted to check for a videographer & DJ at the BDR but got sidetracked debating decor and tastings so everyone was gone by the time I was able to work on that.

I too thought it odd that some are only approved at certain Karisma resorts and not all.  I met with Sascha Gluk (CancunPhotos) and Blue Lens Caribe. Both were very nice.  We went with Sascha because my fiance and I both loved his work and he provided a lot of really helpful info to consider when picking your wedding location and time (e.g., the best time to have your ceremony based on the time of year you get married; the best time to capture the light at just the right angle as it moves between buildings at Azul Beach, the best locations for great beach & sunset shots post ceremony etc...).

Hey everyone!! This thread is so helpful and I'm getting a lot of tips that I have not thought of, so a huge THANK YOU!!!

I'm most likely going to the BDR in May and I was going to possibly talk to some outside vendors.

@@girlinthecity97  How do I find the vendor approved list? I tried to google but its not giving me anything.

Thanks again.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
