Is the 2-story suite the one with the hot tub on the terrace? Is the room worth the extra money?

How private is the Mexican terrace? It looks cramped in some of the pictures I've seen too. I'm wondering why it's such a popular location for hte reception. I'm guessing it's the view and no fee for the location. Is that correct? I opted for the English Garden because it's very private. I don't want to feel like I'm at a resort with other people at the reception so I want something private and quiet.

Did anyone get a discount for group booking of rooms?
We got a deal with our packages through our travel agent....every 16th flight/room booked was free.....so we had the money credited back to us and divided among all of our guests, it worked out to about $80.00 off per person....not a lot, but every little bit helps. I am sure you probably could get better deals because you are closer to Cabo.
Hope that helps.

I'm also wondering about photography. It seems like there are great reviews of photographers on here that are from outside the resort. Does anyone know about the quality of the photography from the person designated by Riu? Does anyone know who that is? I have yet to read about a bride that just stuck with the designated photographer. Is there a reason for this? Does anyone have feedback about the Riu photographer for me?

Thanks!

I was married at the RIU Cabo on Sept 29th and the designated photographer was Jerome. He did a fabulous job. He was only supposed to be with us an hour per RIU policy but actually stayed with us 2 hours. He is french and very cute:) Check out some of my photos:

  • 3 weeks later...

My US wedding planner got them from the RIU WC. I have pics of the varios wedding sites and reception sites. I'm not sure how to put them on here. If you, or anyone can guide me I would be willing to post them for all to see. Or, private message me your e-mail on another server and I can send them there!

Let me know if you have other questions!! Happy planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
