Mexico Wedding - Deciding On A Hotel!

Hi everyone!

After 3 years of a fun, happy engagement that flew by in the blink of an eye, we are finally settling into a rhythm and are ready to plan!

Overwhelmed doesn't even come close to describing my leap into destination wedding planning!

I know I want a Mexico wedding - reason being:  Mexico has a fun nightlife and we want to be able to go into Cancun or Riviera Maya and not stay at the hotel the entire time.

I am looking for a hotel that's all inclusive with a modern decor.  A departure from the traditional hotel styles...i know.

My budget is around $30k for up to 70 people.

Also - can anyone reccommend a good wedding planner?

Please share your tips

Huge thanks and congrats future brides!

I was looking for the same things.  I found Excellence Playa Mujeres to be in my budget and in the budget of the guests for booking so in advance we got a really great deal!  I am getting married 8/23/14 so we didn't start talking with the wedding planner yet, but from what I have read up on she is pretty good.  Good Luck! :)

A good place to start is to read the destination wedding in Cancun/Riviera Maya reviews .  You can read about food quality, see pictures, etc.

Congratulations and Good luck with all of your planning!  I agree that Mexico with just awesome - great beaches, great nightlife!  Wherever you chose will be beautiful. I personally had to pick a resort that allowed children but NM resorts has a ton of beautiful resorts, some for families and some for adults only

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
