2014 Brides- What Decorations Are You Bringing

Recommended Posts

Hey there!!  We're getting married at the Now Jade Riviera Maya on Jan 18th....I wasn't sure what my resort had available for décor (aside from flowers), so I'm bringing a bunch of stuff with me.

Burlap table runners

Hanging paper lanterns

Place cards w/ shell holders

Table numbers

Guestbook

DIY photo booth stuff

Peach napkins

Starfish cookie favors

Hope this all fits in one suitcase!!!

This is aboutthe same list I will bring to Now Jade in June!

I am also wanting to have burlap table runners, paper lanterns, table centre pieces etc. but am finding the costs to be huge for things I won't use again.

Is anyone thinking about selling their items after their big days? We are getting married October 23...

Hello Ladies, I'm getting married on March 15th 2014 at Dreams Resort and Spa (Punta Cana)...I've quickly learned that the Ultimate Dreams (most expensive) package comes with very little. Our reception colors are deep purple, brushed gold, with lots of natural accents.  So far, for the reception (outdoor terrace overlooking the ocean), I've gotten:

  • crystal accessories (votives, candle holders)
  • art deco pieces (unique for each table-we're having 30 guests, so apprx. 4 tables)
  • LOTS of candles (tea light)
  • LED light up branches to place on the ledge
  • mirrored bases
  • table overlays (satin), runners (organza), chair sashes (satin)
  • gold chargers
  • DIY centerpieces (still figuring this one out...)

no clue how I'm going to take everything :\ any tips on shipping/packing/what to bring/not to bring?

Since I'm having a big AHR and most of my budget is going into that, I decided to keep the wedding in Jamaica very simple. Therefore I decide to pack nothing but OOT bag and its contents. I want to keep things as simple as possible. I don't plan to have much guest

I think I may get chair sashes and I would like to do a photo booth..... Anyone else?

I considered photo booth props and stuff but I don't think it's worth the hassle because it's going to be a small affair. Something I might do at my AHR though.

I'm getting married at dreams punta cana also, thanks for this information! I was hoping they would supply most of the decorations since they don't encourage things being sent.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
