Hi SWOK - Wow what a fantastic review! Thanks for all the great info and tips....I will definitely be stealing some of your ideas. We have already been to SWO in January 2014 so when we got engaged we knew we wanted to have our February 2016 wedding there. I have already been in contact with wedding coordinators a few times with questions but it's always nice to get feedback from real brides.

Did they charge you extra for bringing your own decorations? Did you set them up or did you have the resort staff do it for you? Just like pzl101 I am curious if you upgraded your bouquet and what the extra fee was like. I would like to do peonies but don't want to spend mega $$$ on flowers I won't be able to bring home through customs after the wedding.

@@2ndTimeMrs They did not charge us for bringing our own decorations. You bring all your decorations to them and they will set it up for you. Then you just go back to the office and pick up your stuff a day or 2 later. If you don't want to lose anything, you can just take it back with you after the reception. For example, I just took the guestbook with me right after. They lost one of my pen caps so I would suggest taking items back that are valuable to you the night of.

Thanks for the reply @@pjsandwich. I read a few posts from other SWO brides that they were charged for setting up decorations they brought from home so I guess it depends on how complicated your decorations are.....or how good of a relationship you have with the wedding coordinator  :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
