Time Is Flying

Recommended Posts

I am getting married 4/25/15.  I got engaged July 2013, so at that point I had a little under 2 years to plan.  Well that is defiantly not the case anymore.  I am about a year out and I feel like there is so much to do.  Ladies I am needing help with prioritizing my planning.  I have picked my location Montego Bay at the Iberostar Rose Hall Suites!!

Well I would like to congratulate you and your fiance'. Wedding planning can seem very exhausting and overwhelming at first. Take a deep breath and remain calm LOL. I recommend obtaining a binder, to keep all of your plans organized. Destination weddings are much easier because all of your planning takes place the day before your wedding typically. You have your location and date, the next step would be securing your date with a deposit. After that you should send out save the dates! Best Wishes to you.

@@WesnKris How's the planning going? We are getting married 10/24/15 at the Suites as well! All I've done is book the resort and photographer. Have you decided on any details like reception etc? Decor/colors I am struggling with! I plan to bring organza sashes to add some color to the ceremony but trying to match it to the tropical bouquet included in our package is hard because it's mostly red and pink it seems and I hate red and the fiancée doesn't want pink lol!

The planning is going okay.  I have decided to bring over my own bouquet and instead of having them make my bouquet.  I will have them make a centerpiece for the dinner instead.  I am adding color by using fake rose petals as an aisle runner. My colors are brown, Burnt Orange, and Tan/Champagne. We have about 25 people coming.  We have a whole weekend filled with activities.  Thursday will be the welcome day, Friday excursions and rehearsal &Dinner, Saturday excursion and wedding.  I believe they usually have a beach party on Saturday so we will be using that as the reception.  During dinner we will have the father/ daughter, mother /son dance and speeches.  We are actually bringing our photographer, since it is about the same amount to get a photographer for just 4 hours in Jamaica.  I am really excited about it because he will be photographing the whole weekend!!! Exciting!!

That sounds great! Our wedding is at 4:00pm. How are you going to fit the dances and speeches into the hour and a half time slot? I'm at a loss as to what to do to get those things but not pay the $800 to rent the restaurant out!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
