Playa Del Carmen Resorts

Hi Everyone!

Does anyone have suggestions for resorts in PDC that fits the below criteria?  We've been searching for weeks but not having any luck.  We're now considering Paradisus La Esmeralda (expensive wedding) and Playacar Palace (no disco).

-Disco/Night Club on site that opens until 1am or later (not a lounge with piano music)

-Nice calm beach (little rocks/seaweed)

-Family friendly but not dominated by kids (will have a few kids attending, maybe 3 or 4) :P

-modern/newer feel

-all-inclusive

-in-room wifi, jacuzzi suites, swim-out rooms a PLUS++

Am I being too picky?  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

does it have to be IN PDC or nearby?  If in PDC, usually resorts do not have discos if you are walking distance to clubs like Playacar Palace.

You should contact TA Wendy on here.  She is an expert regarding PDC.

I just got married at Paradisus and while I think it fits all of your criteria, the beach does have seaweed.  Our guests mostly hung at the swim up bar the whole time anyway.  Our guests were BLOWN AWAY with the resort though, and loved every bit.  I felt my wedding was literally perfect!  I stressed for a long year of planning, but once I got there it was all worth it.  The flowers, decor and resort were amazing.   I did the Tailor Made package with the Gabi Club upgrade.  Everyone is talking about how it was the best wedding they've ever been to :)

and PS, we paid the premium for the swim up room and didn't use it once!  You will spend most of your time at the swim-up bar! haha!  Definitely splurge on the one bedroom master.  The space is amazing.

Hello Tammy- I have sent a message to TA Wendy. I picked PDC because it has that nice calm white beach but any similar beach is okay too.  My fav. beach is actually Maroma but my options are limited there. Thank you.

KK2013- Thank you for your comments.  I LOVED Paradisus but I just don't think I can afford their wedding package.  They're asking $150 per additional guest on top of the $15,000 wedding.  It just sounds crazy to me.  But, you're right, the resort looks amazing.  I'll probably stay there in the near future but not for the wedding.

I got married at the Now Sapphire and LOVED IT.  The wedding packages included everything we wanted.  15,000 sounds insane to me!  The NS is just north of Puerto Morelos.  A cab to PDC should be less than $50 if your guests wanted to visit.

Though not in PDC, the Now Sapphire meets many of your criteria:

- Disco open every night (really really fun)

- Family friendly with a special kids club where the kids can hang out all day

- Wonderfully sandy beach, no rocks (hard to avoid seaweed unless at Maroma)

- All Inclusive with good food

- Wifi in the rooms and around the entire resort

- Jacuzzi suites

You can get ocean front rooms which are steps from the beach.  Building #1 is steps from the pool.  The pool is huge at the Now Sapphire.  If you are a preferred guest (which I highly highly recommend), you can also reserve chairs by the pool or on the beach - saves a great amount of time searching for spots!  Your entire party can be reserved in the same spot too!

Have you looked in Playacar at all?  It's just south of PDC and has the most amazing beach also.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
