What Is The Best Time Of Day To Get Married In Dr?

Recommended Posts

Hello!

I'm looking to get married in the DR in May or June. I've received updates from numerous hotels about dates and times. What is the best time of day to get married? it seems the options are 10am, 11am, 2pm or 4pm.

Thoughts??

It depends on time of the year.  It gets dark early in the winter (around 6pm), so around 3.30 pm is perfect time for the ceremony so you have enough time for the photos after.  In the spring/summer it gets dark later (around 7pm) so 4-4.30 pm is great for the ceremony.

I got married at 4 in March, and it was perfect!  2 pm is really warm, and the sun is at it's hottest.  Just depends on what you want!  Anything in the morning would feel very rushed for makeup, hair, pictures, and getting dressed and organized.

We're not doing a 1st look, so I went with 3 pm.  That will give us time to get all of our pictures in before we lose the light!  I've got a January wedding, so I think sunset is around 6 p.

I picked 2pm which is what I didn't want. but at the resort I chose it was either 2 or 4 and I wanted 4 but they told me in order to have the 4pm time then I would have to purchase the most expensive package. I didn't want to purchase that package just to have that time because I found it was a waste of money because I wouldn't need everything in that package anyway. That really sucked so I kind of had no other choice but to pick the hottest time of day :(

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
