Hello 27dresses

I am also a 2016 bride to be. I have already booked my hotel, which is The Royal Playa  del Carmen. My date date is July 2, 2016. Too early to start booking the hotel, so I have to wait for that. I am in the process of shopping for wedding dresses now. I have started buying little nick nacks for my OOT bags. Things like bubbles, bells, etc.... I plan to have 20 friends and family attend, so I should not be out a bunch. My only other issue I am having is should I hire a DJ. most likely I will not,  I plan to spend majority on pics.

2016 bride here as well (April) I bought my dress last month.  Have the resort picked out and wedding date reserved. Sent the save the dates....will send invitations probably in the next 2 months to give people info and get people to start saving. Although DW are less work, it's still just as stressful!!

Agreed!  It's not any easier at all.  I told someone that I was having a destination wedding and the lady replied, "oh you are eloping" and I was so surprised to see the stigma attached to Destination Weddings.

Just sending out invitations and save the dates.  Just getting people to book their deposits seems like soooo much work.  At home weddings do not require you to plan out a week of activities for your guests or OOTD bags.

I'm tired just writing this.  lol

Omg, I know what you mean.  I keep having dream I'm going to forget my dress.  Or that they changed the date of our wedding to today and in my dream I'm like freaking out to get everything done.

I have also had to practice a lot of patience.  A lot of my questions are so easy and simple and yet require the patience of a saint because the WC (and I totally get why they take time to respond, I know they are busy) but the WC sometimes takes 1 week or more to reply to a simple question like, can the flower girl throw flower petals on the ground?

ahhh,

I am going to buy my dress next week... I have 2 choices and I gave myself the deadline of March 21st to make a choice. Was anyone else stuck on 2 and could not decide? They are both Maggie Sottero and are at the same bridal salon so that is nice. I cannot WAIT to have that detail planned out ha

I'm a April - May 2016 bride. Got engaged two weeks ago and we are looking at a wedding in Cancun - Riviera Maya. Just started to look at venues but I feel like I'm late already! Am I????

I am July 2016, I am a compulsive type a personality though and I had to have everything planned right away. The nice part is that having a destination wedding there is a little less prep work IMO. So far I have put the downpayment on the venue, set up my travel agent for the group booking, downpayment for my stay and the photographer. I also have saved tons of ideas for OOT bags and decorating items that I am bringing my self but I am waiting to closer to start buying. I sent the save the dates out 4 months ago to give people as much time as possible to save up for the wedding.

Thank you @, I still feel like I need to get going. One of the hotels I was looking at is now fully booked for April 2016!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
