@@helenk I am so sorry to hear about your mom. My heart goes out to you and your family.

Congratulations on the baby!!!!! Don't feel bad about not being able to drink I was pretty much sober the whole weekend ...lol!

Honestly DON'T stress about the extras your guests will just enjoy being there. I spent ALOT of time and money and ppl really didn't appreciate it the way I thought they would. Good luck with everything enjoy the moment and DON'T STRESS.

Oh and I've had ppl book the day they arrived to Jamaica. My sister didn't get her passport until the day before she left and a few ppl missed their flights. Saying all that to say take on the "oh well and long as my groom is at the altar nothing else matters" attitude. Don't let ppl esp adults stress you. It's about you two enjoy the moment

Thanks everyone! We're excited about the baby :) It's hard losing my mom but thankfully I've got my fiancée for support.

I really am not stressing about people booking late or not going, it's just I'm concerned if they do book and I've already counted them out will the WC not allow any changes if I've already given them a final count?

I am not doing anything extra - still have to pay off the actual wedding package and photographer! Lol. And I still have to renew my own passport and I have to buy another dress now and he still has to get his suit/outfit.

I wish I had the time and money to do OOT bags or something fun but it seems people don't love them anyway. Thank you cards after the wedding will have to suffice, lol.

Oh Helen! I'm so sorry about your mom :( I also lost my mom during our engagement and my fiance lost his grandma (who raised him). Of course you did already I'm sure, but going through something like that does tend to make you appreciate your partner. It gave me even more confidence that we were the right people for each other and would be able to weather tough times in the future.

Congratulations on the baby! Hopefully at 26 weeks you'll be past the first trimester sickness but not so big that you'll be uncomfortable for the trip!

As you come to the home stretch let me know if I can answer any questions about IRHS! You're going to have a blast!

Hi everyone!

My sister is getting married at Rose Hall Suites in November. I'm planning the bachelorette party and bridal shower. Have any of you planned similar events at the resort? What are your thoughts on the best activities and restaurants/bars?

Thanks in advance! :)

DEFINITELY work with the wedding coordinators (Nicole and Simone), they worked with me to plan my meet and greet. We reserved to lobby terrace and selected appetizers and had a private bar. They can also help decorate! The only cost was per person per hour, and it wasnt too expensive at all. That may be a good option for the shower. Additionally, you should look into having the bachelorette party in the Mango Walk disco. In doing that u won't incur any additional costs as tthe disco is open to the public and is a lot of fun.

Enjoy!

Hi Ladies,

Just joining, trying to zip through the feeds to find all the info. I'm concentrating on having my wedding at Royalton but it seems to be on the pricer side so I'm inquiring about Rose Hall Beach

1) Does anyone have not only the packaging information but also the "extra" pricing

2) I'm interested in a private ceremony and beach reception. What details can you give me?

3) What are the menus available for the private beach reception (someone was saying it was different?)

Congrats!

Not sure on pricing for private beach I believe its more expensive to go that route than to rent out one of the restaurants. Then i f you want a tent that's an additional expense. A few things to consider

1. God forbid it rains and they have to move it inside will it be private? Prob not because you didn't tell them ahead of time unless they move you to the disco

2. Will they still charge you the additional expense for the beach set up

As far as other prices if you send me your email address I can forward you what I have. Keep in mind prices increase yearly

3 weeks from today is the big day! And we realized we can't afford our photographer.

We're going to borrow his brothers camera and take our own pics I guess lol....ah well such is life.

We didn't want to struggle to pay $1500 for our photographer and we aren't at our best weight wise. I had lost 60lbs prior to the pregnancy but have gained back about 30 and he's gained back some weight as well

We plan to do a vow renewal at some point so I can wear my original dress - so we'll get a photographer for that

At this point I'm just focusing on shopping for Jamaica and hoping the new dress I ordered online fits and looks good! Oh and having a good time while we're there! It's a vacation for us too after all.

When we get back we have a lot of preparing to do for the baby so this time away is definitely needed for both of us

It's also nice knowing I'll have two other preggos to hang out with at the wedding! Lol and funny thing is we're all around the same week wise - maybe a week or two apart! It's an exciting time! ????

Sorry for the long post - just needed to vent I guess.

@@helenk so excited for you wish I was going back! Don't worry about the photographer...my photographer was $1500 as well and did a great job....BUT, my guests all took pictures on their cell phones and sent me copies before my photographer did and all of the cell phone pictures were GREAT! I say all that to say that you can ask your guest to give you some of the pics from their phone and you will have a nice variety and you will see pics from there perspective and they will still be amazing. I got those pictures developed at CVS for only 19 cents each and I love every 1 of them. So no need to worry about hiring a fancy; expensive photographer when you can still capture the moment from your friends perspectives. Smile and enjoy and have fun and congratulations:-)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
