2015 Iberostar Rose Hall Suite Bride

yes they do both hair and makeup as well as airbrush makeup. I know the spa doesn't do airbrush makeup, so maybe you could have the same do your hair and you have In Your Face Beauty Bar do your makeup. It can get pretty humid outside, the airbrush is light and natural and will stay on all day. I like Stacey and Misha's work too. Good choice.

I wonder if since the spa doesn't do airbrush make up they will waive the vendor fee? I mean, if it is something they don't offer I would think that would make sense.

Hey ladies! So I've been thinking more about the details. How are you all going to stay in contact with your guests since the only wifi is in the lobby? I'm pretty sure we are going to arrive one day before everyone. So I was thinking maybe email everyone when we arrive and know our room number so they can call us in the room when they get to theirs? I still want a welcome type dinner but I want people to be able to contact us when they arrive.

Yeah - I definitely don't plan to carry my phone around with me! My sister got married in Mexico and it wasn't too much trouble. Pretty much everyone was around the swim up bar at all times, so it was easy to pick out the group! We have people arriving on every day from Sunday through Thursday and while I am keeping track of who arrives on which day, I think it'll be hard to personally welcome everyone.

I think your idea of texting everyone your room number is good! We have a Facebook group for our guests so we could post it there. I did also wanted to try to get a room list for everyone and share so they could call each others rooms, but with everyone arriving on different days by the time I got a complete list it wouldn't be that helpful any ;(

Like I said, it seemed to work out fine at my sister's wedding so this one I'm trying to dial down my control freak and assume it'll be okay! Ha.

What have you guys chosen semi-private or private dinner? Which restaurant did you choose? There are 35 of us. On a lighter note. I just got my travelling cost cut by my hair and makeup team. They say they are doing a trial run with new lower travel prices. Yaay for me. Past brides can you tell me if you had any issues choosing the semi-private dinner, thanks.

HI @@CarlyW - You actually have to have 40 people to do a private reception in the restaurants, so you may have to do semi-private for 35. And then for private which restaurant you use depends on the number of guests. For 40 they'd put you at the Mediterranean restaurant "Mare Nostrum."

But I've heard very positive experiences with the semi-private dinner!

Thanks @@beckys98. Are you doing semi-private? I think we went to Mare Nostrum the last time we were there and its not a very big place, it was small and intimate. So I see why they would do the private there. The salmon was divine!!! I don't think ill mind the semi-private, as along as we are sitting together and aren't interrupted.

We will have about 73 so we're doing private at Calabash. Our group LOVES to dance and my fiance used to DJ (as did several of our guests) so the music is really important, so we're springing for the private. I am also super freaked out about being too hot with the June wedding so I didn't want to do the reception outdoors. I sweat a lot and I will be really miserable if I'm overly hot - just not what I'm going for on my wedding day. I need the air conditioning! But we are doing the beach bonfire for our welcome event - I don't care if I'm too hot for that :)

Has anyone seen pictures or read reviews where brides got their hair and makeup done at the resort salon? I've only seen one and it looked good so I was gonna go with that but now hearing about this airbrush thing has me questioning booking an outside MUA....I just don't wanna spend the money on vendor fees if I do that.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
