I'm using a TA. It's much easier that way and she books a flight and resort package for everyone....they can just put down a deposit to hold the price and pay off the balance as they go.

I wanted to do the room block as it locks in the price however you'll need almost $1k for deposit. That deposit will go towards your room.

To me its makes sense to just let the guest make there deposit however it doesn't guarantee a price lock.

So I'm going with paying the deposit.

@@FutureMrsGlover whats your TA email address. I forgot to save it.

I'm still deciding my fiance doesn't want to do a room block....my TA also advised me the benefit of not doing a room block if the prices drop she can offer the cheaper rate even after they book

Etiquette question. ...who's responsible for the day pass for guests who chose not to stay on the property?

I didn't give my guests an option to stay at another resort. I just said this is where the wedding is, lol. But I feel like if people stayed at the other ones I'd have to pay the day pass because they're staying at the other one most likely to save costs so it's kind of weird to ask them to pay to come to your wedding as well.

I'm not giving them a choice but i know some will seek out another resort to save money since the Iberostar is not cheap....riu is one of the most budget friendly resorts in Jamaica and if i was traveling with a family i would consider staying there to save money since they charge per room not per person and kids under 12 stays free

There is a thread for this question ...LOL!!! I guess since they are sacrificing to fly all the way to Jamaica to celebrate with us we would have to pay....prayerfully only a few will book at another resort. I am making it clear that i will only cover the wedding day only...so they will miss out on the welcome party

Hey ladies!

@@helenk @budgebride2015.

I just wanted to let you guys know that the prices for the iberostar will be going up for the rooms. When i first started looking earlier this month for 3 nights at the suites it was $540.00 Now its gone up and my agent is waiting for Iberostar to give them a new quote. So you guys may want to think about the block rates. As I know that this hotel sells out quickly.

@@jennifernoel1......The email address is dlanortravel@gmail.com.   I also didn't do a room block.  My fiancé didn't want to come out of pocket for the room block and not know who was going to book.   At Iberostar Rose Hall if they sell out you have the other 2 hotels on the property to fall back on and I am sure they will work out something with you on the rates....if you are using Natalie she will make sure they do that for you.

I am not blocking any rooms simply because we don't have the money right now to put down and also we don't know how many guests we will have. And with the flight and rooms booked together it will be a better deal I think. I haven't even thought about the fact that rooms would sell out because October isn't their busy season. Hopefully this won't be a problem! Thanks for the info though! Def something to think about. I'm also waiting to book because I'm waiting for the flights to become available and also when you book a few months prior to the date that is when you get the best deal. I'll probably get nervous though and end up booking in like February. Lol.

Yea, i understand as it cost $1000 to block the rooms. But I called all my friends that I knew could pay their deposit and send them the TA info. The prices have already gone up by $55 I don't want to risk it being any higher. I'm trying to keep my guest under $800

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
