Please don't use DJ Doremixx!!!!!

I just got married Nov 8 2013 and if it wasn't because my friends are really easy going i swear the party would have been terrible!!!

Got married in the Royal Playa Del Carmen and we met with one of the staff memebers the day before to create an itinerary.  I don't know why we even bothered.  The following day, he didn't adhere to anything in the time line.  If my wedding coordinator hadn't gone up to him to tell him "hey can you announce the cake cutting" "play some dance music" or "uh, you are leaving in 5 minutes, please announce the bouquet toss" he would have just let his playlist keep going.  I would have done much better bringing an ipod.

He did announce my first dance and our dance with our mothers, but everything else was a disaster.  Also, he was supposed to share my itinerary with the photographer and wedding coordinator but didn't so the day of they asked him for it and he said he couldnt give it to them!! my photographer missed the bouquet toss b/c he couldn't get the lighting set up in time!

Please, do not use them.  Get your money back. And if you don't believe me, message me and i'll give you more details.  PS - I am the most easy going bride in the world.

Hi Misty NA,

Uh oh, your comment makes me nervous since we are using DJ Doremixx.  The resort is actually providing him for free since we originally were to be married at Dreams Cancun but just found out 2 weeks ago that Dreams Cancun is closing and my wedding was CANCELLED.  So they frantically placed me at a "sister" property, which happens to be Gran Caribe Real.  I'm trying to come to terms with all of this change 5 months prior to the wedding but to say I'm a bit apprehensive is an under statement.

Do you have experience with Gran Caribe Real?  Anything I should focus on?  Pay more attention to?  Less attention to?

We're using this DJ for the Ceremony as well as the Reception.  I hope he adheres and plays the songs we're hoping.  I don't care so much about the Reception but during the Ceremony we have very specific songs that each person is walking down the aisle to.  Hope it works.

Any advice from you is greatly appreciated!!

That's awful--I'm really sorry to hear this.  I had wanted to use DJ Doremixx, but his prices have skyrocketed, and for some reason, he didn't bother to contact me directly (just my wedding planner).  I am crossing my fingers for all the other brides that this situation was a one-time fluke! :(

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
