Hello, similar to another post I saw here. I too am not formally engaged but have the ring! Whoot whoot. We have looked at a couple of options and financially, a destination wedding makes sense. I am very overwhelmed of where I would start to even look etc and it seems all the webinars are done for 2013. I suppose it's just a matter of reading other threads and waiting until 2014 webinars. My important elements would be the food, liquor, music, venue ( love vintage etc) being affordable for friends and family to come. As this is where I am torn, the obvious downside to destination is asking people to travel but also spend more to get there. I don't know a lot about how rates work for guests etc... Great places with the best bang for your buck, without sacrificing the quality... Is what I'm hoping to get from this. Thanks in advance, Natasha

Hi,

My advice would be for you to contact a Travel Agent they are very helpful with suggesting resorts as well as recommending something that fits in your budget. Mexico is generally a budget friendly option depending on the resort you choose. Well good luck and happy planning I know you will find something best for you.

Bests,

Welcome to BDW!

A good place to start is to read the destination wedding reviews.  You can read about food quality, see pictures, etc.

Like @TiarraBeatyJ said, You might want to try one of the BDW Travel Agents.  We Specialize in Destination weddings.  You can contact us HERE!

Congrats and happy planning!  Definately check out a travel agent.  The sooner that you book something (without even have to plan, just get a place and date) the earlier you can send out STDs and have guests start saving!

If you're worried about your guests, as I was, i would agree with @@megthomson because you can get STD out as soon as you book.  I also included a short letter with mine letting people know of the estimated costs but they could request their own quotes from our travel agent!

We are getting married at the Now Jade resort in riviera cancun because it was the best we could find for the money we wanted our guests to spend.  Our budget was a little higher than what i thought theirs would be and the NOW Jade accommodated both of these and they offer great wedding packages. @@npenney4188 just somethings for you to consider!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
