Nov2013cabowed
So, I'm putting myself out there to help all future bride planning their wedding in Cabo. I know I wished to have an unbiased, detailed bride-to-be or wedding planner in Cabo as I planned our wedding to either do a site check, meet with vendors or simply take pics of a venue. I'm getting married at the Sheraton Hacienda del Mar next month and will be in Cabo for 10 days. If anyone needs a reco or to be 'their eyes' for something related to your wedding, please let me know and I'll do my best to take pics and send you info. I'm also keeping notes on my experience with all vendors I contacted or am working with and plan to share this after the wedding as well. Happy planning ladies! Cheers to us
Marina309
I'd love to hear your insights and thoughts. I am going to Cabo to look at venues next month and the Sheraton is one of the venues we are looking at. Why did you choose it? Are you working with a planner? Thank you
Nov2013cabowed
Hi Marina, I chose the Sheraton because I love the mexican hacienda look and feel. They were also flexible in me choosing my own vendors without a fee and they have a cute little chapel in their hotel which can have Catholic ceremonies (these are usually done at a church, priests won't marry elsewhere). Also, their in-house event planner (Jose) is sooo helpful and good at recommending vendors that I didn't need to hire an event planner. He will be my day-of event contact for a small charge and will deal with managing the vendors. They also offer paying the vendors directly so you as a bride don't have to pay a random vendor that you don't even know. We only have to pay the Sheraton which we're comfortable doing. I'll definitely share my feedback and lessons learned with you once I'm back in mid Nov.
clynn
I'm getting married in Cabo in June 2014. I would love to hear your thoughts on your vendors you used so far. Are they responsive? So far dealing with hotel has been a drag, so I booked a flight to go and meet w/vendors so I can get the ball rolling.... Please advise.... Nov2013cabowed
Hi @clynn. Majority of Cabo vendors are horrible at responding in a timely manner or they don't respond by the day they say they will. I can't believe how much business they get that they don't feel the need to respond or provide much detail to anything. Honestly, it's been like pulling teeth for everything. It's clear they get irritated at the multie questions and emails but they should put themselves in our shoes...most of us don't live in Cabo and are trusting a total stranger not only with our money (most require 50% deposit) but with one of thee most important days of all our lives. This is why I want to help future brides as much as possible. I'll share as much as I can!! Good luck and congrats on your upcoming wedding!! clynn
Thanks! I'm making some progress now, hotel is being more responsive. Sometimes I find it easier to just pick up the phone and call. I think I found a DJ & photographer, but am still looking for florist, minister, & violinist or trio. I got my dress and location booked, so I got 2 big ones outta the way I'm sure it'll all come together slowly but surely. Good luck with your wedding next month, I look fwd to hearing your reviews after and if you have any vendors that have been a pleasure to work with thus far please let me know!! THanks! BroFlo
Hi, My daughter wants to get married in Cabo. We have been vacationing at Hacienda Del Mar for years so that is our thoughts for the wedding. The Cabo Del Sol golf club there would be perfect but maybe too pricey? There would be about 50 guests. Any cost and referral information would be appreciated. Just got engaged so next year would be the time. Thanks, Susan
