When your hardresser attends your wedding

Recommended Posts

My hair dresser for the past 12+ years has indicated that he and his partner will be attending my destination wedding (of course they have been invited).  Several of my friends attending also have been long time clients of his.  What is the protocol here.. he would like to do my hair for the wedding but I think I should offer compensation.  It is an all inclusive resort so the cost for 3 nights is almost $1,000 (just for him not including his partner) plus airfare.  I was thinking offering to pay for his portion of the room in lieu of 2 practice hair style session prior to the wedding and ask him to do my hair and perhaps my mother's for the wedding.  Does that seem reasonable? I don't want to offend him.

Any insight would be appreciated.

I think that seems reasonable, you're obviously close enough if he's been doing your hair for 12+ years and he got a wedding invite! I would ask him directly if he would prefer to have his room covered or be paid for hair appointments?

I agree with both the girls....I would just ask him!

My problem is...one of my friends (who doesn't do hair for a living, but is REALLY good at it) will be attending my ceremony. Getting my hair done at the salon is included in my wedding package....do I have them do my hair, or my friend? I kind of feel like I'm paying the spa to do my hair..so I should let them...and that way my friend doesn't have to take the time to do mine? She can just touch it up if need be? Hmmm....

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
