Dreams Riviera Cancun 2014 Brides

Recommended Posts

Hi ladies!! I just got back from Dreams!! We had our wedding on Sat. August 16th. It was beautiful!!!! I still am on Cloud 9. Dreams really took care of us. Our wedding coordinator, Claudia was fabulous! I did not know what to expect since we didn't do a tour prior to having our wedding there, but all my worries and concerns were immediately gone after I met with Claudia. We had a symbolic ceremony and arrived four days prior, but I believe that you only need to be there two days prior for that.

If anyone has any questions, let me know and I'll be happy to answer them. :)

That's amazing we are 3 months away!!! Details please rehearsal dinner? The cocktail and reception ! So happy for you!!!' anything you wouldn't have done second time around?

Thank you!!  We had a welcome cocktail hour we had secured through a promotion they had late last year. The welcome cocktail hour was the day before our wedding. We used the trio during that hour and had it at the North Beach. We didn't have a rehearsal dinner as I only had a MOH and a Best Man along with our flower girl. We met with the minister a couple of days prior to ceremoy to go over what it would go like, vows, etc.

Our ceremony was at the Gazebo. The sight is very visible to other guests because it is near the pools, but honestly, I tuned everyone else out. I just focused on my now husband and on the guests. I didn't really notice all the people that probably were watching our ceremony. Lol...

We forgoed the cocktail hour and instead all the guests congregated at the Lobby Bar for drinks while we took pictures. Our ceremony was at 5pm and it lasted longer than most because it was completely bilingual. The reception was at 7pm at the North Beach. The diff. between the North and South Beaches are that the North is more private. Our table was set against the ocean. It was such a scenic and beautiful sight! Since we forgoed the cocktail hour, we got to add an hour to our reception, so it went from 7-11pm. We brought our own vendors for DJ and mariachi. I brought my placecards, bows and overlays. We had the Ultimate Wedding package, so we just chose what was included already. With the views of the ocean, you really do not need to add much more. The view makes it! Our guests all said the food was delicious! They also enjoyed the cocktail appetizers the night before.

The day flew by soo fast! The salon girls did an excellent job with my hair and makeup. I was very nervous about it going in, but they surpassed my expectations.

Hmmmm...what would I not do?  I would not have stressed out as much as I was the three months prior to date. Meeting with our coordinator put my fears aside.

Ask away if you have any questions.. :) :)

Hi!! Great review and congrats on  your wedding :) Did you think the 5pm was a good time for you ceremony? Mine is scheduled for 3:30 and I am wondering if I should change it.

Thank you, Lynnette! 5pm was a good time considering our reception was at 7pm. The only thing was that it was hot! I wouldn't have it any later, though because I really thought 7pm was a perfect time to have our reception.

If you have your ceremony at 3:30, what time is your reception scheduled for? 3:30 will be hot for sure. What is your wedding date?

As soon as I have pics uploaded, I will try and post them. :)

We went to Playa del Carmen to find our placecards. We ended up choosing two different ones. One is the Mayan calendar and the other was a pyramid. They were pretty considering the location we were at. I had envisioned using starfish or beachy type placecards, but I didn't find any until we were at the Cancun airport ON OUR WAY HOME!! Lol!!

I recommend to save yourself time, bring them with you. I found many online, but we thought we'd have an easier time finding some over there. In hindsight, I should have just ordered the ones I saw online and saved myself time and money. I guess the plus side to getting them in Playa was it ended up being something authentic to the region.  We bought all the welcome bags and items in Cancun and Playa.

My ceremony will be starting at 3:30 cocktail hour at 6 and reception at 7. We wanted to have an hour in between for pictures. Do you mind me asking what the prices were for pictures? I read that it is $150.00 an hour is that right?

My wedding date is may 18th, 2015! Very excited :)

Does anyone know the size of their banquet tables?  Are they 60" or 72" round?

I'm bringing my own linens and really prefer the 60" round.  When I ask my coordinator she can't give me an exact answer.

Do you by chance know the size of the tables?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
