Dreams Riviera Cancun 2014 Brides

Recommended Posts

I just confirmed my 2/22 wedding today with David! He said I would hear from a wedding coordinator (which I assume is different from himself) 3 months prior to the wedding. Once I sent my deposit he sent me a ton of info and questions which made me feel better. It is so detailed and from everything I have read it sounds like they are really on the ball! Any advice or tips welcome! Also would love to hear/see pix from any weddings!

I am doing the wedding at the gazebo, cocktail hour on the beach, and reception on the deck. We are expecting 75-100 guests. Not sure on buffet vs sit down dinner? Getting married at sunset too, so I hope they time this right!

Sent my save the dates today also...I did a mock airline ticket (sorry can't attach pix on mobile app). I also have a travel agent here who is helping me book everything.

Ahh that's all for now, sorry my post is all over the place!

@@Shelleyq Mine is 2/23!!! See you there!! :D

Does anyone have the premium dinner menu? I have emailed twice and they sent me the same thing but it didn't include the premium menu!! Also, for the plated options, do you have to ask guests what they want in advance? Just wondering for when we do invites in the late summer/early fall.

@@nattiegams325 that is awesome! Are you having a big wedding?

I only got the gold as well. If you get the platinum please pass it along. Also I don't know about the plated options. I thought I read somewhere they wanted you to just pick one. I also read on an older post that the Caribbean buffet was really good! We want more of a casual atmosphere and are afraid if we do a 5 course dinner that it could take a really long time.

@@nattiegams325 & @@Shelleyq - There is a "Frequently Asked Questions" section that reads,

"Do my guests get to choose their own main course main course, for example meat or fish?"

"Yes, this is possible to choose from two options, however you should provide us in advance the number of each option, including a seating chart with the names of the guest, table number, and dish. Don't forget to bring your placing cards, otherwise this will not be possible. If you need help with this, please contact our wedding coordinator, she will provide you with a seating guest list and seating form."

I hope this helps!

@@Shelleyq We are planning on maybe...50ish?! But no idea. Haha my fiance and I wanted a small wedding but my mom is insisting we invite extended family and so it might be more than we had originally planned for! And yes I will pass along the platinum menu once I get it!

@@pddcmc Hmmm I guess I should email them again for the menu. If we send out invites in the early fall we should include the entree choices in the invite. Thanks!

@@pddcmc I actually found the name of the videog - grupo JCM or something (it's in the current FAQ section on their site). They used to go with Cancun wedding video but that was years ago. I still can't find examples though!

@@Wedding2014 Mexican night is every Saturday and every Wednesday is Caribbean night. It surrounds the activity pool and they have live music throughout. Oceana is pushed back though, behind the seaside grille, so I think you should be ok. I can send you pics of Mexican night if you want to see the extent!

We invited almost 200 people! My fiancé invited every guy he has ever played golf with in his whole life I think! I am praying no more than 100!

Also my travel agent is telling me I need to send formal invitations in June!! I wasn't planning to until august! When are you sending yours?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
