1. Do you know the name of the florist company they use ?

 

2. How much is it extra to add an extra hour to the reception?

 

3. Does anyone that has had a wedding reception at the Oceana have any photos of the area with their table setup and decor? Can you see the dance floor from the upper level?

That's so silly they can't credit for cocktail hour! You are paying for it! They should be more flexible (

Depending on when you booked, there could be an option for you. They offered (after me being very upset) to extend my reception for an hour. We also have to pay $15/ person for every person over the 20 included in our Ultimate package. On top of that we have to pay for another hour of the DJ, so it adds on quite a bit, but I just did not want the cocktail hour!

 

In regards to photography, one of my guests is a photographer, and even though I didn't want to mix business with friendship, it seems like the only way to go. She is staying at the resort for 8 nights. I have an email in to my coordinator letting her know, and I really hope that they don't try to charge me an outside vendor fee! I'll keep you posted. I asked if I could use my photography that is included in my package for the rehearsal dinner or welcome party. Anel told me that based on availability (they could only let me know 2 weeks before) they could take photos for 30 minutes at one of those.

After all of that yucky logistics I wanted to post a fun thing that we are including in our ceremony.

 

Instead of having the sand ceremony, which isn't very symbolic to us, we decided to do something different. We are having a wooden box made that we will have a bottle of wine in, and after we read our vows (we are writing our own) we will put those in the box too and then lock it. On our 1st anniversary we will open the box and bottle of wine and reread our vows. Before closing it we will replace the bottle of wine and write love letters to each other that we will open the next year. I think that this is a great way to remember what you were feeling the year before!

I think you probably have to go in with that special before booking it yourself.. Might need a "promo code" or something...

Hi, so when I was initially looking into booking rooms through a Travel Agent they had mentioned that incentive. It basically means for whatever 5 rooms you book through the Travel Agent/Resort, the 6th room is free. You can get up 3 free rooms max. The value of that could be up to $3,0000 so to me.. that is probably one of the best incentives of all! You can even put it towards your wedding, your own stay or any of your guests.

 

I was really confused at first too because I couldn't get it through my head that I could I really get free rooms! But it's true, you can! I would ask your Travel Agent for more details

 

Just in case anyone runs across this thread, this incentive is still going on for 2015 because my TA told us about it

I am super new at this site, but figured I'd join and see if I can learn more about this resort!  My fiance and i are getting married August 2014 at this resort!  Anyone know the difference between the north and south beaches for the ceremony?  Also, how are you guys going about setting everything up with the photographer and videographer?? HELP :-)

Hi Future Mrs 2014! When in August are you getting married? We are also getting married in August 2014. August 16th to be exact!   I recently got an email from the wedding coordinator that is assigned to us. I can't believe the countdown begins! LOL~

We are coming on Tuesday! We will have to meet up!!! I have emailed back and forth with a Claudia a few times a couple months ago, but haven't received an email stating who our actual coordinator is!! Hopefully someone gets to us soon!!!
