Hi there.

I'm getting married at dreams riviera as well august 23rd 2014. I'm new to the website so I'm hoping to find it helpful.

We have the trip paid for, but are finding ourselves stuck on the wedding part. We recieved the complementary wedding but are curious if we just do add ons/extras or upgrade to a better wedding package. Any insight on that for me?

Hi.  I'm actually evaluating the same thing.  Currently we've signed up for the middle package.  However, because there are services in the package that I will not use, I've done the math on going with the complimentary package and adding on what I want.  So far, it's coming out a few hundred dollars cheaper.  I haven't officially made the change to the complimentary package, but if it's allowed I will certainly consider it.

Hello DRC brides!  We are getting married October 13, 2014.  We've booked the complimentary package and will add things a la carte.  It was cheaper than the next package for what we wanted.  We will be having our wedding on the beach at 4pm and the reception at 5:30 also on the beach.  I wanted the pool deck, but we won't have enough people.  We will not be having a cocktail reception since there are a few bars and the guests can just go hang out or take some me time.

I would be soo lost without this site.  It's been soo helpful!

This site had also helped me so much! We've done the same thing, booked the complimentary package. We are still decided if we should add on or upgrade the package. Are you getting a photographer? I'm still undecided on what the ceremony should look like. What about you?

We don't have many people either, maybe 20. Are you doing a sit down dinner type of deal?

Thanks for your information.

Hi fellow Brides! This website is amazing, I am getting so much information and I feel much better about my wedding. I am getting married at DRC on June 12, 2014 and I can't wait. I chose the ballroom for the reception to stay out of the heat because my family LOVES to dance! The only problem is I can't find pictures of it except for the one stock photo they provide. I want the entire ballroom because I may have over 100 people and I don't want to be crowded. Now I am wondering if it rains if they will divide up the ballroom for the other wedding on that day. Does anyone have any information about this, or any pictures of the ballroom? Anything would be greatly appreciated, thanks! Congrats everyone!

I know they have pictures of just about everything from guests on TripAdvisor. It's worth checking out!

I've been MIA with planning but after glancing at my planner, I've realized I gotta get moving on planning this wedding!! Good luck to everyone out there.

My next step is to book photographer and videographer. Adventure is through the resort right? So we don't need to pay vendor fees? I found a pretty cool company in Mexico but it would have been $5,000 for both video & pictures. Just sounds too ridiculous to cost almost as much as our whole wedding.  :(

How did your wedding go Lou!?? Let us know the deets  :D  :)

I got the Platinum Package? Or whichever is the highest one.. and I think the cocktail reception is complimentary up to 20 people. I'll have to look into that as well! Thanks for the tip tkennerson!!

Are you using a TA to organize everything?  If so, have them call.  My TA got us grandfathered in.  We also did the Ultimate package.  If you need the emails to book, let me know.

I'm getting married at DRC on 6/21, and Claudia is already asking for seating chart, menu, budget forms, etc.  It seems a bit rushed...anyone else getting this?

This thread is awesome, thank you all in advance for sharing such valuable information! I am very interested in Dreams Riviera Cancun, and if I had to guess my wedding would be April 2015 with about 50 people. It seems very affordable for the guests, which is my main concern since I am dragging them all the way to Mexico!

Can anyone share any info on the additional costs of chairs/tables/dinner etc. for the additional people, because I noticed the packages only cover 20 people. Also - do they use the same chairs for the wedding as they do the reception for dinner?

Also - what kind of group rates did you get? Do you get any perks for booking a certain amount of rooms? I am also looking into Moon Palace, which is more expensive for the guests, but they offer a ton of perks.

Thank you in advance!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
