Any Grand bahia principe runaway bay jamaica brides out there

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if there is a bride out there that has gotten married at the grand bahia principe runaway bay Jamaica.  Our wedding is booked for february 2014 and wanted to know your thoughts on the garden grill restaurant or the dolce vita italian which is better food for semi private wedding reception.  I'm having a hard time deciding which to choose.

We got married in November and had our reception at Dolce Vita, which was good.  The grill also has great food as we had a family dinner and one of our a la cartes there.  It depends on the food your looking for but I found all the food at this resort was really good.  Good Luck!

Hi ladies! There are several forums here on GBPJ! Just click on forums and type in the search words. I got married there too a couple of years ago.

if anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask! It's a wonderful resort and we loved every minute we were there!

Congrats to all of you and happy planning!! This is a great site and full of information!

I am getting married on July 25, 2014.  We are not sure where our reception will be held yet.  We thought we had the gazebo (pisces) but apparently it's already booked.  I am confused though because some brides on this forum mentioned that they ate dinner at one of the restaurants and then had a DJ and dancing in the gazebo on the beach (the one where the ceremonies are held).  Did anyone else do this?

Thanks!!

@@klettore   The Gazebo and the Pisces are two separate locations ...The Gazebo is where you have your wedding ceremony at the beach.  The Pisces is where the lunch/snack bar is during the day!  You can rent the Pisces for a private dinner/reception instead of having a semi-private one.  The Gazebo can be rented for dancing/drinking after your reception.

Hope this helps

Hi ladies,

I've just created myself an account on this app. I am getting married in GBP- Jamaica in March of 2015. I already have a wedding planner who has booked us already. We are a group of 20 and will be getting married under the gazebo. If anyone has any recommendations concerning photographers, ceremony wise, evening dancing and dj..etc. please feel free to share :)

Would absolutely recommend Merrick Cousley. He is a sweetheart to deal with, quick on the emails and his photos are beautiful. His website: www.merrickcousley.com  He's also on facebook so you can see his work.

A lot of brides rent the gazebo on the beach. If you go to the large forum for this resort you'll have a TON of reading and ideas and tips. I don't think I would recommend the resort disco. It's kinda lame so I don't think you'll get much in the way of dancing there. At least we didn't. Some people enjoyed it but we didn't find the music was too great.

Good luck and happy planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
