Help! Memories Grand Bahama Advice?

So I just for off the phone with Mark from Mango Tree. He seems like a really great guy and I can't wait to work with him! He reassured me that the resort will be beautiful and he asked me several questions in order to create a photo package with he will discuss with Memories to price. Yes we booked our package through Sunwing but I didn't really do much. My aunt is a travel agent so I called her and she was able to get us a group quote at a great price and every 11th guest goes for free. I live in BC but will be flying from Toronto as most of our guests are there. We have guests flying from Toronto, Winnipeg, Edmonton and across US. Delta does offer packages but they are very expensive so our American guests are purchasing flight and hotel separate. I have been reading you blog and I'm also interested in Memories Grand Bahama Beach Resort and Casino. I noticed you mentioned that they have sent you a tentative wedding packages, I was hoping you could share it with me. Also how many people do you plan to have at your wedding?

Hi Mandy!

 

We booked a "package" that includes flight and hotel together from a tour operator, Sunwing, so I don't really know what the hotel portion of it is. Our group rate for the base room was about $1350 per person and that includes taxes, flight and hotel and it is a 7 night package. So that works out to just under $200 per night but that is including flight too. I hope that helps!

 

It is definitely a good price for the Bahamas and the resort is supposed to be nice.

I emailed the wedding planner last week and she responded but only to say that they still don't have any further information. The resort was set to open this week but the opening has been delayed until February 1st so I assume it will still be a few more weeks until they have any information for us. Makes me nervous!! Perhaps afidler88/Amanda has received some information as I believe her wedding there is in April.

Which resort is this for - it was so much... what's the name... we are also on the hunt.. so far we have a little here and there as far as location, for grand bahama what are the best options.  Is there anyone looking else where at other islands in the Bahamas - we're looking for something a little different not with lots of options, we've been also looking at long island  and cat island in the bahamas....
