Hello!! :) I'm Stephanie. My fiance, Chris, and I were engaged in August. We're planning a beach wedding somewhere in Cancun. We're still sorting through the resort options and verifying available dates. We're also planning for 50-60 people to attend. I'm looking forward to tips from those of you who have planned weddings already.

Have you been to that area before? Look at the accomdations web page for Cancun area. I actually had iberostar lindo picked and changed my mind to Now Jade after seeing I get more bang for my buck there. Plus its closer to airport and will be nicer for my elderly guests! Or maybe contacting a travel agent with what your looking for and they could give you some ideas. Happy planning and congrats!!!

I haven't been there before, but some of my family and close friends have and another of my friends was married at the Dreams Cancun resort and she loved it. I'm definitely considering a Travel Agent after reading through all the things you ladies have experienced. It seems you have a bit more leverage with negotiations when you book with a Travel Agent and more security for your money. I'm looking at the Dreams Cancun and Dreams Riviera Maya the most at this point, but there are a few others to consider as my parents have a Time Share with many resorts included in Mexico.

All the DIY decorations are on my radar as well. I see how much extra little things are and they add up. I may have an entire suitcase of things to take with me for decorations.

Congrats and happy planning. I am in the same boat. We are looking at the same resorts plus the azul Sensatori We are having about the same number guests. Just trying to find the best option without paying so much more for extra head count.

We're getting married November 21, 2014 at the Now Jade. We considered a few others, but for the price we didn't find much that compared with the resort we booked at. The Dreams are very nice and that was our second choice, but they're a little farther from the airport and we'll be traveling with a 2 year old! I want to be able to get where we're going quickly! They have great wedding packages like the dreams do also. They're sister resorts. Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
