Royalton Punta Cana 2014

Recommended Posts

@@Feath07 We had a group of 48.

The food was fantastic. Our wedding was catered by Hunter (the steakhouse) and our guests loved it. I ate at all the restaurants at the Royalton (although none at Memories) several times and wasn't disappointed.

My best advice is to arrive more than a couple days before your wedding so you have time to check out the resort, try some of the restaurants - and most importantly - meet with Claribel and Yessy. I ended up changing my boutonnieres, reception location, and a few other details once I arrived and got a feel for everything and got to witness some other weddings in passing.

@@Potter8 First off, Congrats on your wedding!! :)

Thanks so much for the info.  So happy to hear the food was good, definitely a huge plus for me!

Yeah we're planning to arrive at least a few days before all of our guests, which will be good. That's nice to know you can be flexible with certain decisions and make changes once you arrive.

Does anyone have any feedback or comments regarding the resort salon (hair, make-up and mani/pedi, etc.)?

I'm debating on whether I'm going to hire someone outside the resort for the hair and make-up or use the salon there. I'm just nervous about the quality.

Thanks!

Hello ladies

Congratulations to all of you, recently married or still engaged and planning your wedding.  I'm Dawn and I am from the UK, my Fiancé and I are getting married at the Royalton on 1st October this year!!  16 weeks to go!!

I have just read through this thread from the start and firstly thank you for all the information I simply found just from you ladies.

At the moment we have paid our deposit and spoke about a few things with Laura, so far Laura has been very accommodating in regards to replying to my emails, given the time difference I always have a reply with 24 hours so I can't complain about that.

So we are travelling from the UK on Wed 24th September for 14 nights, so we have a full 7 days before our wedding to finalise things with Claribel and enjoy some holiday time.

There is only 10 of us in total so its a very small intimate wedding, just what we wanted.  My Mum and step Dad are travelling with us but our remaining 6 guests arrive on Saturday 28th.

So the main decisions we have decided are, legal ceremony on the beach Gazebo (booked for 5pm) followed by a PRIVATE meal for all 10 on the beach.

Now we have initially told Laura we would like the dreams package, however I am not sure if the free package and paying for extras is the way to go with such a small number of guests, will it actually work out cheaper?  The only reason we picked the dreams package is for things like the cocktail hour and musician, those little touches are the things we would love, specially the saxophone!

I mean basically we still have EVERYTHING to finalise, I really need to start getting things sorted with Laura but I would much rather work directly with Claribel as she is based on resort.

Price wise, the exchange rate for us in the UK it works out a lot cheaper, hence why a lot of Brits chose to marry abroad as its just so much cheaper so I don't have as much worry in regards to costs as a lot of you, plus with only 8 guests its far from a large wedding, however we are not made of money and so we still have to keep costs as low as possible.

So yeah, I need to start cracking on really!

Hope to speak to you all a lot more in the next 16 weeks :)

Thanks D xx

Hi Everyone,

My fiance and I are getting married next May and we are looking forward on having 90 guests. We originally are planning on having an outdoors private reception, with DJ, dinner, open international bar....but looking at pricing looks like is going to be a fortune!!  We may have to drop on a few things in order to make our wedding a bit more affordable.

Please I would love to hear any advise on how do drop downs costs while still being able to enjoy of music and drinks.

Thanks,

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
